Hi folks! I'm looking for information (or strong opinions) on unipolar vs bipolar psychometric items. E.g. asking in one item 'sad --- happy' vs having 2 items, 'not sad --- sad' and 'not happy --- happy'. Can be for affect, personality, symptoms, etc. Thanks!
How do NEUROSCIENCE & PHILOSOPHY interact? How has their interaction changed over the last 40 years? @EugenioPetrovi1 provide a long answer to such question in our recent scientometric paper. An interesting read for all philosohers &/or neuroscientists link.springer.com/article/10.100…
Can two chunks of info be cognitively equivalent, but experientially different? @RodrigoDiazXPhi has puzzling data about this. Rather than keep it in a file drawer, he explained it, proposed interpretations, and asked for our ideas about next steps. We should do more of this!👆
Do women feel some emotions more strongly than men? Out today in Affective Science, I argue that claims like this make a notoriously subtle mistake. What is it? And what does it have to do with an astigmatic painter and thyroid medicine? A short thread... link.springer.com/article/10.100…
Libgen, Sci-Hub, and Z-library had millions of pirated academic books and papers. So, they were shut down. We shouldn't use them anyway. We should help billion-dollar academic publishers get richer. Anyway, here's how to access these libraries: Don't do this!

Historical research has been exploring other times when philosophers tried to start a movement like what’s now called “experimental philosophy” (in the 1930s, in the 1960s,…) This raises the question: Why was this idea always defeated in the past but flourishing right now?
Should we respond to AI’s emotional expressions? 🤖 In our new paper, Jonas Blatter and I argue that the reasons depend on design features, not authenticity. Read here: doi.org/10.5406/215211… Preprint: philpapers.org/archive/DAZRTR…
