“At what point does the State say we are no longer subsidising a failing business?” Is a fair question. But what does it say about the State propping up Irish Newspapers with zero rate VAT? The press gallery cheering the decision when it was announced in the Dáil said it all.
🗣️ "This is providing those businesses with opportunity to survive…" 🗣️ "…And that's more important than the person that can't put on their heating?" @kierancuddihy questions the Government’s VAT cut for hospitality over cost of living supports. #TonightVMTV
Remember all the years where these parties tried to pin their reluctance to deliver anything significant for workers on the Green Party? What’s the excuse now?

Italy is the best country in Europe for a holiday. It has it all. Fantastic weather, people, food, scenery, history, beer and wine. Great country.

We have finally reached the ‘we can’t solve the housing crisis because our ruling class will try everything other adequately controlling immigration’ stage of Irish politics. irishtimes.com/business/2025/…
In Europe, thousands are being convicted for the crime of criticizing their own governments. This Orwellian message won't fool the United States. Censorship is not freedom.

Although it’s dark times for free speech in Europe, thankfully the US is still a shining light on a hill.

The Irish Times says Ireland’s housing crisis cannot be solved due to population growth. These Boomers simply aren’t getting it. If you’re under ~35, you missed the Celtic Tiger & entered adulthood into a broken system you didn’t create. But we are the ones who’ll have to…
Only 20% of Irish adults in a position to save €1500 a year, which is barely enough for a mortgage payment or monthly rent plus bills. What are FF & FG planning on doing about it? Nothing. Keep taxes high and a €200bn spending bonanza of taxpayers money over next few years.
At some point in the not too distant future the period of Ireland’s windfall corporate tax receipts will come to an end and people will realise that decisions were made by the two major parties to not allow Irish people accumulate wealth personally. 80% can’t save €125 a month.
"We're spending 200billion of the Irish people's money". Id ask you to spend it wisely but sadly I know about the children's hospital, bike shed, rte etc. It'll be mostly squandered on bureaucracy and contracts for the boys.
It’s time to deliver better and faster infrastructure in Ireland, and under my leadership, Fine Gael is committed to making it happen. The Government is investing €200 billion to transform how we deliver new homes and the services that support them.
This is who FG & FF are. They are the political parties who believe in milking taxpayers for all they’re worth.

Reading this article you’re left with impression that Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael had the intention of significantly reducing income tax and that they weren’t lying about it in the lead up to the last election as they have every year for the last decade. Of course we know the truth
The big winner from next year’s Budget will be the hospitality industry - that will happen at the expense of income taxpayers, writes David Murphy rte.ie/news/2025/0722…
“If we’re to manage the immigration system, we need to have knowledge of who’s here”: Ministers Sean Canney and Noel Grealish say that the Government should have checks at the border to ensure that individuals who are given deportation orders do, in fact, leave the State.
That's an 84% extra spending/16% tax reduction split. Absolutely UNFORGIVABLE given the cost of living increases that people are trying to deal with right now. And I predict that not one opposition party is going to identify this as a major issue.
🚨 Budget 2026 in line to have a tax reduction package of €1.5bn - which could yet be reduced if there is “a deterioration in the tariff landscape”. Govt Spending will increase by up to €7.9bn, of which €2bn is capital and €5.9bn is everyday services @VirginMediaNews
