Old account inadvertently nuked. Starting over after losing 16 years of tweets and 8k followers. 🤷♂️ Oh well. Here we go.
I wonder if Nicole Mitchell will delay resigning until sentencing now...🤔

There’s something so perfectly government about driving around using a giant screen just to catch and punish people driving around using tiny screen.
It looks like a car, it drives like a car, but it's equipped with cameras ready to catchdrivers on their phones. Police across Minnesota are looking for distracted drivers. Park the phone.
No sympathy for someone who’s turned feigned concern for family members into political strategy. Nicole Mitchell’s kid is eligible for Tricare Retired Reserve. She’s stalling to keep her paycheck and benefits through Aug, on the backs of Minnesota taxpayers. That’s it. #mnleg
She made a terrible mistake. Another reason for the delay is so her CHILD can receive health benefits through the month of Aug. How this short delay impacts anyone else is beyond me. Empathy costs 0. She made a mistake she’ll live with forever and will always impact her.
Good question texted to me this morning regarding #NicoleMitchell and eligibility for office. Answer: The Minnesota Constitution ties eligibility to hold office to eligibility to vote (Art. VII, § 6). Since a felon becomes eligible to vote once they’re no longer incarcerated…
There seems to be some confusion about the “mandatory minimum” 6-month commitment in Minn. Stat. § 609.582, subd. 1a. The law requires the court to order a sentence of at least 6 months—but under § 609.135, that sentence can be stayed, and that’s the presumed disposition under…
I’m not sure what you’re looking at in 609.582 but sub 1a. says committed for six months.
I would have liked to see the prosecution use this to modify the jury instructions, as Mitchell admitted to wanting to commit a crime in Carol's house, just not "theft" as the state theorized. #NicoleMitchell #trial #mnleg The original charging document didn’t allege “theft,”…
Just Now, Nicole Mitchell states she was ACTUALLY in the house to access Carol's computer devices and check and modify settings. Very likely a violation of Minn. Stat. § 609.891 (“Unauthorized Computer Access”) and/or Minn. Stat. § 609.746 (“Interference of Privacy”)

Cool, that will cover about half of Walz's House-Oversight-prep legal fees. startribune.com/minnesota-reco…
20 year in prison for #NicoleMitchell? Technically possible, but not going to happen. If convicted of first-degree burglary, Mitchell faces a presumptive stayed sentence of 21 months under Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines (Severity Level 6, CHS 0), with a stay of imposition and up…

The State has rested. The defense calls their first witness—Carol Mitchell’s son—and promptly (and repeatedly) violates the first rule of witness examination: Never ask a question you don’t already know the answer to. #NicoleMitchell #trial #mnleg
IMHO, Nicole Mitchell's own conduct and words are speak for themselves and support a conviction. #NicoleMitchell #trial #mnleg
Multiple objections during opening statements. (Pretty rare). Defense is off to a strong start. #nicolemitchell #trial
