On Sask.’s NWPTA invitation: one thing we want to avoid is the creation of overlapping trade agreements within Canada. That said, if provinces are willing to come to the table & work together to break down internal trade barriers, we will call it a win. ctvnews.ca/saskatoon/arti…

Stopped by Victory Paint, a local small business in Prince George, to meet JP and the team behind this growing operation. Small businesses like this one are the heart of BC’s economy. #SmallBusinessEveryDay

🚨 Vancouver just became the first city in Canada to introduce its own carbon tax — and small businesses will be the ones paying for it. It’s a $350/tonne tax on commercial buildings that could add $14,000/year in extra costs.🧾🧵1/4

Canada could build 30,000 more homes every year—just by eliminating interprovincial trade barriers, according to the @CMHC_ca. 🏘️ That’s a meaningful step toward closing our housing supply gap and making homes more affordable for Canadians. 🧵1/3 #bcpoli #cdnpoli
This is big news for BC 👇 The CMHC says ending interprovincial trade barriers could help build an extra 30,000 homes per year. 📈 Imagine the impact that would have on BC's housing crisis. Yet another reason for leaders to remove barriers to goods, services, and labour from…
📉 BC's Monthly Business Barometer update: Summer is normally peak season for many businesses, but BC small business confidence slipped backwards today, bucking national trends. That's a a concerning sign. All provinces but one, British Columbia, gained momentum over the…

I've heard confusion regarding WorkSafeBC’s rate-setting announcement this week. It is misleading. It claims that WorkSafeBC could have raised rates but chose not to—this is not a rebate! Employers will not see any cash rebates. WorkSafeBC's rate-setting announcement does not…
Thank you Mayor Dyas for recognizing the importance of the #smallbusinesseveryday campaign! 66 cents of every dollar spent local, stays local (compared to just 11 cents at a big box store). ❤️🇨🇦

Good to see Treasury Board President @shafqatalimp announce a new red tape review with a tight timeframe. As he notes, small businesses spend over 700 hours a year dealing with government regulation. Progress on red tape would provide a significant productivity boost for Canada's…
Looks like the CIT meeting wrapped. Of note here, many provs already have DTC alcohol sales frameworks in place (or well on their way) but only MB has it fully implemented. Hopefully we will see movement much sooner than the May 2026 deadline... cfta-alec.ca/communique-jul… #cdnpoli
Thanks to @cfibBC for joining @RestaurantsCA and @BCRFA in opposing @WorkSafeBC 's unfair, costly, & contradictory all verifiable gratuities as assessed payroll policy. Our members other than those who have been audited have been unaware of this confusing policy until recently.
📊 76% of small businesses affected say the proposed definition will negatively impact them; 📣 72% were unaware of the proposed change until recently; This data has been shared with WorkSafeBC. #bcpoli
📋 BC small businesses already cover 100% of paid sick days — the highest in Canada. 🚨 Now, Bill 11 would ban employers from asking for a sick note. Most already don’t ask for notes, but removing the option entirely takes away accountability. Bill 11 needs balance. #bcpoli
