Good to be in St. John’s today to meet with @PremierofNL John Hogan. Jonathan and I raised small business views on interprovincial trade, immigration, taxation and regulatory policies. CFIB is hoping to see an end to NL’s special tax on insurance premiums.

When I started my CFIB career 31 years ago in Manitoba, Gary Doer was the NDP Opposition Leader and one of the first politicians to meet with me. Later, he was the first (and still only) premier to agree to CFIB’s request to lower his province’s small business tax rate to zero!

So nice to see former CFIB colleague Erin McGrath-Gaudet this evening. Erin serves as Deputy Minister to the Premier in PEI (and Premier Lantz took the photo)!
