Aneuploidy is the leading cause of pregnancy loss. In our study (biorxiv.org/content/10.110…) led by undergrad Angela Yang, we used a simulation framework to infer rates of meiotic (39-43%) and mitotic errors (1-3% per division) that best explain data from human IVF embryo biopsies.

Based on the new DNA evidence now from Harbin, as well as Xiahe, it's now almost certain that the samples in the yellow box are all Denisovan. It's very exciting that we finally get to study the morphology of these samples in light of their relationship to us and Neanderthals.

I’m thrilled to share that our work on reference bias in aDNA analysis has been published in @GenomeBiology! This study (genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…) highlights how discrepancies in small variants and other factors between T2T-CHM13 and GRCh38 impact introgression inference.
