How you get better and innovative is by questioning everything and accepting nothing. Is the way we've been doing this; how other people have done it; is it even valid? If so, how can we improve and make it easier and better? If not, how can we blow this up and make it perfect?

This is very interesting. I never really got into rom hacking, but these are the sorts of tools that make it possible! This is what we need to jazz up Sailor Moon (and other games)!
So, the good news is, I finally resumed work on X5 after deciding to write new tools to edit game graphics and sprite assemblies more efficiently.
Haven't heard how they are getting along with this, but hope it's true!
