Brown patch (on green) and Pythium blight (on collar) have been seen at the OJ Noer. And in true research fashion, none of it is on our brown patch or Pythium blight studies of course. Get some appropriate fungicides down if you haven’t already.
It has been for us in Wisconsin, now it’s working for Kerns and Co down in North Carolina. Stay tuned for more details…
Super cool study we are conducting that was the brain child of @plkoch2 and @kurtaculous. Potassium bicarbonate suppressing dollar spot quite well. Well done gentleman on this work!

Watching the drone app in our study this morning had me envisioning a not-too-distant future where AI monitors local conditions and uses disease predictive modeling to send out drones to apply pest mgmt tools with minimal input from humans. Interesting and exciting times ahead!
And right on cue, etiolation on bent in Madison. Almost like @PGRBill knows what he’s talking about
I'm getting ready for etiolation emails/DMs to come with the current Nebraska weather. High humidity with warm nights, clouds, and frequent light rain offer a perfect environment. The rapid growth rate is ugly and weakens the turf against pests and stress later this summer.
It’s a ‘bust out the big guns’ kind of weekend across the upper Midwest

It’s been distinctly non-diseasey so far this year, but dollar spot is revved up and ready to go with this forecast for next week

Congratulations to Zach Reineking @ZReineking on earning the E.J. Marshall Platter for outstanding partnership preparing @ErinHillsGolf for a great @uswomensopen. A well-deserved honor for Zach, his staff, and all the volunteers!
Can aerial applications be as effective as ground applications for dollar spot control on fairways? I dunno...come to our field day on August 5th to find out. wisconsinturfgrassassociation.org/wisconsin-turf…
Thanks @aircropwi for partnering with us. Can drones be used for fungicide apps on turf? Spray volumes at 5 and 15 GPA. Atomizer disks=small droplets=maybe good coverage? Come check out the drone at the UW Turf Field Day on Aug 5. Still lots of kinks to work out. @plkoch2

It wasn't a banner snow mold year for our testing by any means, but still plenty of great data from our 2024-2025 research! Give it a look as you begin to build your 2025-2026 snow mold programs. Thanks to @kurtaculous for his work managing the trials! tdl.wisc.edu/2024-2025-snow…
