The world's highest court has ruled that states have legal duties to act on climate change and that inaction violates human rights. A huge victory for the planet, for the future, and for our kids, and led by @pisfcc - heartfelt thank you for all you do💕
This case is an extraordinary win for our pacific neighbours who went to the ICJ seeking climate justice. Shamefully Australia opposed this, saying there were no broader legal obligation for nations to act beyond the terms of climate treaties. The court rejected this submission.
