Fingal’s Operations Department has installed a new woodland pathway in the Tolka Valley, stretching approximately 1km from Mill Road, Blanchardstown (near the old entrance to Connolly Hospital) to Dunsink Lane. This scenic path follows the Tolka River through beautiful woodlands…
Astronomical Observatories of Ireland staff and students from Armagh and DIAS/Dunsink met today at Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies - @DIAS_Dublin HQ today. A bright future for cross-border collaboration on astronomical research and public engagement
Today’s #SolarFlare was the first X-class event (the strongest category) since March, and launched an impressive filament west of Earth. The region is rotating out of view, but may still be flare-productive when it rotates back to face us two weeks from now.
Years of work by many, more to do, but this is a beautiful sight! Congrats to the Astronomical Observatories of Ireland partners @DIAS_Dublin @DIASDunsink @BirrCastle @ArmaghSpace & deep appreciation of the work of the wonderful World Heritage team @NationalMons @DeptHousingIRL
The Historic Astronomical Observatories of Ireland have been added to the World Heritage Tentative List for Ireland. This cross-border partnership comprises Armagh Planetarium & Observatory, Birr Castle & Demesne, and Dunsink Observatory House. Learn More: bit.ly/3Yz9tlY

G4 (Severe) Geomagnetic Storm levels were observed at 16/2055 UTC due to activity associated with a pair of CMEs that left the Sun on 13 Apr. Solar wind signatures show signs of weakening, however further activity in the G1-G3 (Minor-Strong) range remain possible.
