8 species counted 22 individual butterflies including our first Painted lady of this years count #BigButterflyCount @savebutterflies

The sun came out this morning for a short while and so did the butterflies! Only counted 16 overall ( not high) but three new species to this years count added - 2 Red admirals, 2 small tortoiseshells and 1 holly blue all made their first appearance today #BigButterflyCount

I've just counted 25 butterflies for the #BigButterflyCount in our garden, it was a bit crazy trying to keep up! all out enjoying the sunshine after yesterday’s rain! 2 Speckled Woods, and small tortoiseshell plus a comma made the first time appearance @savebutterflies

The rain stopped long enough to count butterflies this afternoon Not as many around as yesterday which is not surprising but still managed to count 3 large whites 3 green veined whites 3 gatekeepers 1 peacock 1 red admiral - fly by 1 speckled wood -fly by #BigButterflyCount

Just submitted our first #BigButterflyCount for 2025 in our garden planted with butterflies in mind 5 large whites 4 green veined whites 13 gate keepers 1 ringlet 1 peacock @savebutterflies Doesn’t look as though we have many more counting days for the ringlets this year
