Our Baseball Team of the Week is @TriadBaseball. Bringing home the 3rd place trophy at the State Finals last weekend in Joliet. Congratulations on a fantastic season! 618!!

Some personal news: yesterday was my final day of coverage for the Times-Tribune as I move onto my next chapter. It has been an honor and pleasure to cover @TriadKnights action over the past six years and I cannot thank everyone along my journey enough.

With tonight’s win, @TriadBaseball (34-6) has broken the program’s single season win record. They’ll return to action on Friday at 10 am against St. Laurence in the @IHSAState semifinal round.

Mid 9th: Triad 1-1 Mascoutah Pearce Goodfield makes his playoff debut for Triad, coming in to strikeout a batter with the bases loaded.

The Class 3A Milliken University Super-Sectional is all set, as @TriadBaseball and Champaign Central will battle at 6:00 pm Monday. I’ll have coverage from the contest, where the winner goes to @IHSAState.

Final (9): Triad 2-1 Mascoutah @TriadBaseball (33-6) walks this one off in the bottom of the ninth as Keegan Seipp drove in the winning run with two outs. The Knights advance to the Milliken Super-Sectional on Monday, where a win earns a trip to @IHSAState.
