We have a funding for postdoctoral fellowship that needs to be filled ASAP. We are exploring new directions (1) at the interface of non-equilibrium computations and physical learning and (2) in building ecologically motivated AI models for microbiomes. Please spread the word!

Just learnt that our collaborative grant proposal on identifying master regulators of T cell metabolism in Lupus will not be reviewed as the study section was indefinitely postponed, along with many other grants that are vital to biomedical research.
Really excited to be named one of the Sloan Fellows in Neuroscience! It's an honor to join the ranks of some seriously talented people, and I sincerely hope I can live up to it. Thank you to the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation!
🎉Congrats to the 126 early-career scientists who have been awarded a Sloan Research Fellowship this year! These exceptional scholars are drawn from 51 institutions across the US and Canada, and represent the next generation of groundbreaking researchers. sloan.org/fellowships/20…
Has anybody looked at approximate Bayesian computation using stat mech? Rejection ABC uses rho(S(D),S(D')) < eps (rho is discrepancy function, S is a summary stat, D is data, D' is simulated data) looks an awful lot like the microcanonical ensemble with an energy = S(D).
New iteration of our manuscript on building a latent variable model using the consumer/resource framework is out! Turns out, microbiomes are quite low dimensional when looking at them through the lens of the C/R model! We use this observation to propose design strategies.
