The NYT finally has a front-page article on the mass famine sweeping Gaza, but barely mentions the role Israel has played in blockading food from entering. Here's how the Lead Editorial of @haaretzcom today begins: "Gaza is starving, and Israel is responsible."
Battling against the ignorant rhetoric about disability, blue badges and (gasp) Motability cars. Daily post Spoiler: those weeping about ‘paying for’ a disabled person’s car aren’t paying for it. The disabled person is. With their own money. 👇 amestaylor.medium.com/motability-and…
Banning Palestine Action broke UK’s obligations under international law, says UN Human Rights Commissioner bit.ly/3IKH5II as Minister confirms “Protest in support of Palestinians, waving a Palestine flag or expressing views about horrifying situation in Gaza is lawful”

Banks who paid secret commissions to car dealers if they deceived customers into paying higher interest rates on loans could be rescued by Chancellor if Supreme Court finds against them bit.ly/4mbi6wp

So Junior Doctors have been renamed because they were not junior and are now Resident Doctors because they're not resident?
Battling the ignorance and bullying online of disabled people. Today, blue badges. Blue Badges are massively underclaimed according to government statistics. In 2023/24 only 38% of people who were automatically entitled to a Blue Badge held one.
More LIBOR etc traders to seek exoneration after Hayes conviction quashed bit.ly/46s1rAg they were jailed but the banks that created the atmosphere in which they set rates to the banks’ advantage paid $10bn fines, senior people never prosecuted. Judgement extract below.

"Some of the destruction in cities in Gaza is greater than the destruction of Hiroshima in nuclear weapons." Genocide scholar @bartov_omer tells @piersmorgan the death statistics there are at “a ratio that has not existed in the 21st century." 📺 youtu.be/KYWiG9jEa9s
In Senegal, Islamists are doubling down—pushing for even harsher anti-LGBT+ laws. 🏳️🌈🚫 Longer prison terms of 15 years & a ban on “promoting homosexuality” Love isn’t the threat. Hate is. 76crimes.com/2025/07/16/sen…
Reminder UK had at most a quarter of its current immigration levels when in the EU, and that Brexit added to this by doing away with previous returns agreements But UK media and politicians on both sides don't point this out for fear of offending those who stupidly voted for it

A man captures the rare moment a 300-year-old tree collapses after cracking for nearly an hour, caused by rot from an old lightning strike.
With clichés like that he’ll do well.
I am honoured to be appointed Shadow Minister for Education. Education must always be a ladder of opportunity. I look forward to working with @lauratrottmp to hold Labour to account for their damaging policies and empty promises. Our children and our country deserve better.
"The ward at the Patient’s Friends Benevolent Society hospital is crowded with other skeletal children, some doubled up on the 12 beds. There are only two functioning paediatric teams left in Gaza City, and up to 200 children turn up daily seeking treatment." An atrocity.

No timeframe for the end of the dividend gravy train either!
"No timeframe for hosepipe ban end, says water company." Did I mention by the way that according to Ofwat, Thames Water is worth a gobsmacking, head wobbling, stonking £21,008,425,000. Honest, I swear, I'm not making this up. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
The pension age remit is a smoke screen. The real purpose of the review is to look at the affordability of the state pension. In other words - can we afford the triple lock? The review has been brought forward three years so she will report in plenty of time before the next…
Just to be clear, it is a flat out lie to suggest that Labour is going to raise the pension age to 74 or 72 or indeed do anything to alter the pension age.
Not a lie if he believes it and he has form believing total nonsense!
More lies from #DubaiDickie @TiceRichard. The palm house is being closed to restore the rusting iron and the glass. While it is closed it is going to be made net zero compliant, but that isn't the reason for the closure. All this is in the original article being misrepresented…
