Low pressure in the Gulf is still struggling to get organized. Scattered storms are developing west of the center, but little tropical organization has been observed. The system will continue to move west and will likely move inland this weekend. wxii12.com/weather
The heat cranks up on Friday. Miserably hot over the weekend with mid-90s and a heat index of 100-108°. A stray afternoon downpour is possible, but most of us stay hot and dry. Be sure to drink plenty of water and limit time outside.
We will finish July with a heat wave, but relief comes quickly in August! Falling highs will also come with better rain chances. Until we turn the calendar, we will have to deal with some brutally hot days. wxii12.com/weather
Heavy storms associated with a broad Gulf low remain disorganized. The disturbance is moving west-northwest and should begin moving into Texas tonight. The system has just a few hours left to develop tropical characteristics. wxii12.com/weather
Rain chances remain meager through early next week. We could have a spotty downpour or two in the afternoons, but that's about as good as it gets. They won't offer much in the way of relief from the extreme heat.
INTENSE HEAT: This heat wave is about to be legit—potentially hotter, and definitely longer than our last. Mid-90s are in the forecast for 5 or 6 days in a row. Take care, stay cool, and keep a check on pets, elderly, and sensitive groups. #NCwx
A good reminder here ahead of some more dangerously hot days in the Carolinas.
HEAT WAVE: 90s are back Friday and into next week. 'Feels like' temps over 100° are likely several afternoons in a row with only limited chances for rain. Time to start thinking of ways you, your family, and pets will stay cool. #NCwx
A broad disturbance has moved into the northern Gulf and will bring areas of heavy rain to the coast this week. Some gradual tropical development is possible before moving inland this weekend. However, the odds of it becoming a tropical depression are low. wxii12.com/weather
We're watching another area of interest in the SW Atlantic. An area of disturbed weather is expected to move west across Florida into the Gulf this week. It has a small chance to develop tropically along the Coast before moving inland. wxii12.com/weather
It's 3:00pm! How is your day going? Here are your current temperatures. wxii12.com/weather
A slow-moving cold front is sagging southward through North Carolina, triggering pockets of rain over the Triad. Scattered rain will possible Tuesday morning and a few leftover showers will be possible in the afternoon. Drier weather returns by Wednesday. wxii12.com/weather
Dewpoints are in the miserable range this morning. High humidity will begin to ease up over the next few days, but not yet. You may need a shower after walking to the car. It's "mugly". You've been warned. wxii12.com/weather
A tropical wave in the Atlantic won't be named anytime soon. Storms remain disorganized and environmental conditions are becoming less favorable for development. No "Dexter" this time. wxii12.com/weather

Below-average temps are in the forecast for the middle of the week! Expecting highs in the low to mid-80s on Tuesday and Wednesday. It doesn't sound like much, but with a small drop in humidity, too—you'll feel a difference. Heat is back by the weekend. #NCwx
DRIER AIR: A small drop in humidity arrives late Tuesday through Thursday. It's not much, but hey—we'll take what we can get. Muggy air is back like it never left by the weekend. #NCwx
