I think OP is giving a lot of credit to non Southern states that isn’t due but I understand the point they are trying to make. Maybe if you say specific places like NYC or LA but majority of the country shapes folks views just like the south. It’s just more insidious.
This why she needs to move out of the south. It’s shaped her world view to hinder her from experiences that she wants to live.

Rev. Watley preaching at Wheeler reminds me how much I loved Reid Temple at Howard when I was there. Between him and Rev. Fomby, whose hair was ALWAYS laid in that pulpit, I was always fed spiritually and literally cause they would cook for the college ministry! Good times.

Just because your surgery was done minimally invasive with small incisions does NOT mean it wasn’t MAJOR! We still do the same surgery just without the big incision. You still are under anesthesia for hours and that residual gas pain alone can knock someone out. 😭
