We have to listen to women and the desires they have for THEIR body. Doctors take an oath to do no harm and to respect a patient’s autonomy. Listen to women and respect it, even if it’s not what you would do.

Today, I comforted a Black woman with fibroids and heavy bleeding causing anemia who feels she’s been pressured into a hysterectomy after being passed from doctor to doctor and no one is listening to her. I reassured her that she’s in the right place and we will take care of her.
