Solid-state technologies have transformed everything from electronics to batteries & lasers. What will the #solidstate revolution look like in #biotechnology? Here we kick off the transition to solid-state bio. Led by @augustbrookwell @CalPolyCSM pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
You designed binders for your favourite protein and wish there was a way to experimentally screen them within 24h w/ only a set of pipettes and a plate reader? Check out our Cell-Free 2-Hybrid approach (CF2H) Full post: tinyurl.com/48cz5nb6 Preprint: biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…
How can we make medicines more accessible? Cell-free manufacturing offers a way. New work from @PardeeLab shows multi-site implementation of cell-free systems across continents, countries, and labs... medrxiv.org/content/10.110…
I'm a bit surprised to see that #alphafold 3 predicted that an input peptide sequence would cyclize. Is this a known thing? #Colabfold predicts it to be unstructured. Sequence: PIAQIHIL

I was just teaching the alphafold + pymol workflow today and noted the need for an integration to improve access to new users. This could be the solution to make structure prediction+analysis more accessible.

2 of 2: Instead of activating a water molecule for hydrolysis, as previously thought, release factors induce a structural change in the transfer RNA, enabling its own 2’OH group to attack and break the bond, a universal process in all organisms. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
My daughter received a heart transplant early this morning. ♥️ I'm so thankful to the donor family, I hope they know that their loved one's heart has gone to the most incredible and inspiring person I know.
Doctors are performing a medical miracle at @StanfordChild this evening. So thankful!

Really enjoying the new platform tools from @FutureHouseSF. Its been interesting to compare Falcon vs deepresearch from Gemini and others, but I especially love Owl to search if anyone has ever done XYZ before.
A really neat read while I wait bedside @StanfordChild for my daughter to receive a heart ♥️ transplant. Seeing the active research in the field is a great source of hope.
