If one party offers a draw, the opposition may or may not accept it. If they don't, the game continues without fuss. Chess is better that way.
A statistical rarity, the only men's test innings in history to feature a trio of consecutive three-digit prime scores: { 101, 103, 107 } #INDvENG #CricketTwitter
Beautiful scorecard only duck and 90 plus runs by batters #INDvENG
3824 runs at 37.86 330 wkts at 25.06 @imjadeja Nos of cricketers with more runs AND more wickets at better averages: NONE P.S. Naysayers, we do know that by some quirk, defeating the entire progress of human thought, scoring runs & taking wkts have both become easier these days
India trailed by more than 300 at Old Trafford but India batted brilliantly in the second innings. As one of the Indians approached his maiden hundred – a magnificent one – an English legend calmed him down, helped him get to his hundred. Mushtaq Ali, 1936.

Let’s try this headline again: “The people of Gaza are being starved by Israel”

10th instance, 2nd for India Viswanath 179, Gaekwad 102, Amarnath 101* v West Indies, Kanpur 1978/79
Any other test innings with 4,5 & 6 all scoring centuries?
This was the first *full-length* drawn Test where Ben Stokes captained. The other draw, also at Manchester (in the 2023 Ashes), was reduced significantly by rain.
Can't believe you'd grudge two batters in their 80s the chance (that they have every right to make use of) to get to their hundreds, when they've worked their absolute backsides off to get to this point.
India could have kept England on the field until it was time, honestly. There is a small gap before the next Test. England have been on the field for a long time here. Could have kept them on the field for even longer.
Shades of Bangalore 1983/84 when Zaheer Abbas thought they could leave but Gavaskar (rightly) stayed put because he was close to his hundred. The Pakistan fielders left. Gavaskar waited for 23 minutes. They had to return. Gavaskar got the hundred.
What did Jadeja try to do off that first ball and, more importantly, WHY?
Yeah, that bounce inconsistency rating confirms what most of us were thinking. It almost seems like a new pitch today.
India needed Rahul to be around for the second new ball. :(
After my youngest daughter fixed my computer, I overheard her talking with one of her friends saying it was just an "ID ten T error. They both starting laughing. Not wanting to appear dumb, I walked away and wrote down the code. ID10T. She was never my favorite kid anyway.
Long way to go. Loooong way. Ball by ball. Over by over. Hour by hour. No need to dream as of now.
Jasprit Bumrah has conceded 100+ in an innings for the first time - the 91st he's bowled in. It's the longest anyone has gone from the start of their career without doing so - Curtly Ambrose took 2/108 in the first innings he bowled in, then never conceded 100 again in 178 more.
