I like a good argument, but will swipe when annoyed.
An archived version of The NY Times article. I trusted the virologists saying it was natural in 2020, because I assumed they understood the importance of being truthful to maintain trust. My mistake: they're manipulative liars, who deserve scorn. archive.ph/bysgH
This appears to be an affordable solution to offset the warming effects of increased CO2 loads. Greens will hate it, however, because their goal is to eliminate human impact, not to promote sustainable human thriving.
Yesterday, we deployed seven biodegradable natural latex balloons with measured sulfur dioxide and hydrogen. All reached the stratosphere. Telemetry confirmed 10,525 Cooling Credits reached 20km+, offsetting 10,525 metric tons of carbon dioxide warming for a year. This is the…
Woke has led to extreme antisemitism on college campuses and hostility toward free speech. To push back against woke we need free speech, but free speech means that the cultivated antisemitism will be allowed to create hateful campus environments.
1/3 of California's early release inmates from Covid were back in prison by 2025. 30 had committed murder, 4-5% domestic abuse. That's a heavy cost for society to bear. calmatters.org/justice/2025/0…
The best comment on the problem I have with progressives’ criticism of MAGA, which is not to say that MAGA doesn’t get a lot wrong.
They’re Doing!
A fantastic and heartbreaking thread. Reading the attached documents leaves me pessimistic about the future of American universities.
DOCUMENTS: The University of Michigan’s “anti-racism and racial justice” cluster hire wrapped up last year—recruiting at least 20 new professors. I’ve acquired the proposals via a record request. They show how U-M aggressively hired social justice activists. 🧵🧵🧵
As some others have noted, this text expresses a victimhood mentality, designating a group as privileged and collectively guilty of past injustices, that could easily translate into ethnic violence. The country is clearly failing, and people's lives are threatened.
The African National Congress registers its firm rejection of the United States government’s decision to grant refugee status to 49 individuals self-identifying as Afrikaners.
There is an aspect about the Hendrix case that I think is legally significant. The Brandenburg criterion means her use of slurs is indefensible, even if angry 'thief' or 'brat' would surely have been more appropriate, but not illegal, as there was no instigation to violence.…
And just like that, Germany ceases to be a democracy. Instead of admitting to failed policies since 2000, European political parties are silencing critics as they drive into a wall.
BREAKING: Germany’s domestic intelligence service has officially classified the entire Alternative for Germany (AfD) party as right-wing extremist
In order to make a statement that they are independent of the US, Canada demonstrated they are not by voting against alternating parties when they desperately needed to. They should have ignored the US and just voted in their own interests.
This is the central question of the next 50 years. Without wiser energy policies, and massive nuclear buildup, the AI and robotic advances, which require vast amounts of power, will not save us from the ills of demographic collapse.
I think this is the best comment on the decision in the UK.
thetimes.com/uk/society/art… Supreme Court rules that a woman is legally defined as . . . a woman. Congratulations. And “The concept of sex is binary, a person is either a woman or a man”. Yes, the science was settled in the Precambrian. Nice that the law has finally caught up.
Persuasive and troubling interview with @AnIllarionov on Triggernometry. The Trump ploy, he believes, is to abandon Ukraine, because Russia, not Ukraine, is a useful ally against China. I'm skeptical of Russian power because of demographic weakness. youtube.com/watch?v=cIlrM-…
I find interesting how this article from Science et Avenir this morning intersects with the mass layoffs at the NIH, CDC, and FDA. Since I learned about L’Académie National de Médicine, a French organization with 475 members who meet regularly to discuss issues in medical…
Anthropology needs to be saved from lunatic activists. Understanding history is too important.
This week, one of the most important fossils ever found in Australia (and perhaps the world) was taken to an undisclosed location, put in a hole and covered with dirt WLH-50, the Garnpung Giant
Congresspeople, Democrats or Republicans, last night Democrats as far as I saw, texting and tweeting during the SOTU set the worst example to our youth and should be shamed. Keep your cellphones off when you are in class, at a speech, at a movie, or speaking with a friend.
As I watched the fiasco at the White House, I am reminded of one of the deep problems in Europe in the 1930s. According to the Versailles Treaty, Germany was beaten, but in fact, as long as the US stayed out, they were dominant. Reality trumps paper, but the US could return.
Really a nice, commonsensical speech. The refusal to allow Representative Libby to speak and vote in the Maine Assembly is completely unAmerican.
My full thoughts on @GovJanetMills and the Maine Democrat Majority's attempt to cancel me and silence the voices of Maine girls:
