Everyone saying “survivorship bias” to this is like when people say “correlation doesn’t equal causation” when in that particular instance it totally does
There's a mild relief and a mild terror when you read old letters and novels
Everyone knows that literally none of these Reddit posts that go around and start a Discourse have ever been real right? Like not a single one.
These people had 9 months to move away from the most overpriced and expensive city in the US to keep their baby. It’s not like they had amazing jobs holding them back from leaving.
No one irl cares about this. This is not a real thing. There are many real reasons modern parenting is hard but this is not one of them. Enough.
Modern parenting is more miserable because neurotic moms on the internet have destroyed normal childhood. There are whole videos dedicated to shaming moms who let their kids climb up slides. That’s a normal kid behavior and years ago kids would just deal with that themselves.
Good litmus test for if you are enlightened: - do you love Jews? - do you love Hitler? The answer must be yes for both
Most of these are just treatments for modern problems lol
What's a modern minor medical treatment that is just bonkers effective, like you'd painfully die for weeks if this happened 400 years ago.
When I meet people who still hate drumpf and think all rw people are evil I’m just like ………… Oh. In 2025?
The whole “marry your high school sweetheart” thing worked when people’s social group was basically just their town. Now that it’s the world, you have to give people the opportunity to date around and have a few relationships to feel certain.
Monogamy does call us to be something higher, and Matt is right in his points. It's developed alongside civilization for a reason - it's the basis of a healthy society But monogamy requires trust, and this was destroyed by easy divorce & culturally sanctioned promiscuity in the…
Almost no one is honest about what they want and why they want it. it's not just a foid thing
The over correction from the me too movement on the right is just as bad as the original movement. So many are quick to say, “she put herself in that position. What did she expect?” The exact can be said for the man. “He was having sex with women who weren’t his wife under…
so you guys are trying to summon body positivity back eh
From hottie with a body to FRIDGE CITY! 🤢
I think most of the old allergies and formula connection is simply because formula is usually dairy and for susceptible individuals, dairy can trigger inflammation and allergies. Relationship is murkier now as most breastfeeding women may still consume lots of dairy.
Lately just embracing my schizo approach to reading books where I buy 50 of them, leave them in random places around my house, and read a few pages of whichever one speaks to me that night
so addicted to this app. it feels intellectual but it’s just slop and brainrot
Poilievre is calling the election loss a one-off. That’s not reflection - it’s denial. He hasn’t acknowledged the real reason he lost: an inability to pivot under pressure. And he’ll walk into the next campaign with the same blind spot . My Sub-stack in comment below
A lot of barren rich people are going to be disappointed by their IVF eugenics babies. An extra 5 IQ points or 2 inches in height isn't necessarily going to make or break a life. The failson is not born he is made. And with perfect genes they'll be forced to blame themselves.
Almost all who can afford it will pick among IVF embryos to give themselves the greatest chance at having and their children the greatest chance at being the best looking, tallest, smartest, healthiest children possible. In two generations, they'll be a highly distinct people.
I feel like no one I know would’ve been born with this technology lol. Pass
holy shit. it's happening you can now screen embryos for 900 diseases and traits including cancer, heart disease, IQ, and alzheimer’s, before they’re even born you don’t just pick a child. you rank them by longevity potential. 1/
Mandela effect ?????? I thought covfefe was coffee? And I thought it was obvious that it was that. He meant coverage?
8 years ago right now. A simpler time.
Another great article by @t7_linda lindawriting.substack.com/p/the-elephant…
Another batshit take avoiding the more obvious answer that the modern world makes pregnancy and infanthood rather tasking for most.
