Biggest difference is Greene goes down and then they picking on Ben on the Corner, he is playing soft, not stepping up tackling. Most of the plays MTL has made has been at the FC position
Great job by Calgary flipping the field. I do love the way Uguak plays. High motor, long and athletic. Has the ability to play inside DT and outside DE. Very talented player
Good night, I appreciate your love for this league. As An American I love this league and want to make sure that people. Understand it's completely different league than when I played. Coaching the last 2 years and breaking down film I have a good grasp of what the league is now
Would be great if they had a summit or a committee of former players to address this issue, need our star qbs remaining healthy to continue to grow the game. Have a good night Nik.
Padded practices effect it but when u stunt and Blitz I'm sure they don't understand who's at fault. Also most of the time interior OL Get beat clean. Pressure from up the middle creates most edge sacks and vise versa. I just want to know who is qualified to have a conversation
Article does admit that there’s less pressure in the interior (where more Canadian OL are at) but does bring up the fact that oline play is weak in both leagues right now. Maybe it’s the lack of padded practices mandated by the CBA as well. Multi faceted issue.
You can skew numbers but can they break down every play and know who is to blame, protection and are fluid. It's not the same week to week, so just claiming who game up pressure without understanding who is responsible for what is useless.
I held the same belief but this article gave me another perspective recommend checking it out, crunches the numbers. OLine play is bad in general in both leagues. 3downnation.com/2025/07/24/opi… cc @TheJCAbbott
Have you ever made a protection plan, do you know the complexities of defences these days or just talking to sound important? If a guy can recognize stunts blitzes he shouldn't be a pro
A lot of the protection issues imo is because they’re trying to teach a lot of traditional NFL/NCAA lineman learn pass pro in the Canadian game. They have to keep it simple because expecting a guard to kick out to a blitzing half just won’t happen.
The ratio, it's funny the CFL wants to protect qbs but won't change the ratio rule. Most of OL are Canadian, going against American DL. There isn't one team in the league u will say better than a DL in the league. But qbs make leagues elite, but cfl hinders itself with ratio
The amount of protection issues in this league is simply astonishing to me. These aren’t tough looks or complex fronts. It’s just such a struggle to protect vs 4 rushers. God forbid anyone runs a simple stunt or twist. And if you bring someone off the edge. Free hitter. It’s just…
I don't think it's worth debating that Cody is better than Ford. Just saying Ford went 4-13 in a game and Atleast Cody gives you a chance to win. But Cody takes more sacks because he understands stats cfl tracks
Ford took some pretty bad sacks as well. Fajardo throws a better ball and better ability to read the offense.
I will tell u Cody takes sacks to protect his completion percentage. He takes sacks most qbs wouldnt take, look at how many sacks Edmonton gave up before tonight per game. He is a great leader but he will throw ball away.
6 sacks is tough night mentally to handle … I used to be upset when we gave up 2/3 sacks in a game!
I don't want to go without saying how talented Thorpe is a DC in the league and how many looks he can throw at teams, the defence is so athletic and he does a great job creating matchups for his players to win.
Also Glen talked about Dline making more plays in the run game late, he said Thorpe might have said something, no, LBs played closer to the Los creating more one on one blocks at the point of attack, and the DL won their matchup. Earlier LBs deeper, time to dbl up to next level
I said the same thing in the last three like that. Get an extra 18 secs off the clock. The penalty that put them back an extra 10 yards hurt as well. Instead of punting from. The 32 would have been a huge difference as MTL would have had to go on 3rd Down
Man, you’d have loved that 10-yard pass to be a 9-yard gain. QB sneaks to kill the clock would be great here

To many injuries to overcome, Ben Labrosse was a liability on the Corner, it was MTL only method of offence in the clutch. He is incredibly talented but talent isn't enough in the Pro game
VA making plays out there. Pat Delmonaco has the offence hitting on all Cylinders. Without a starting tackle, missing 2 starting Wrs, and the offense has been steadily moving forward.
Mills is a Dude, he has looked more explosive this year, and always runs with power.
I second that, wish I was in town to go. Team has been playing very well and making big plays and fans love big plays.
There’s literally no excuse NOT to go to the Stamps game tonight: 1. It doesn’t interfere with weekend plans 2. The team is exciting AF and in 1st place 3. Perfect weather Support the best pro sports team in the city.
Glad to see @SLemonator is going to. Be back on the field soon. Glad he will be able to finish his career the right way, and have his day to recieve that call for the Hall.
If you look at this week's power rankings, Calgary has beat the number 2,3, and 4 team in their 5 wins. 4 total wins in the top 4, and that has to be the hardest schedule in the first 6 game of any team.
