Must read from a great voice that you need to listen to and follow.
I wrote about the impending demolition of a disability rehab centre in Jenin. Particularly proud of this piece for 2 reasons; 1. It’s my first time being published by Al Jazeera, and 2. It’s my first hard news piece in my pivot from features & opinion! aljazeera.com/news/2025/7/16…

So unfair that despite the Govt's own reports highlighting the cost of disability @niamhnih is about to lose her disability allowance! ⬇️ I'm about to lose my disability allowance: 'It's time to stop means testing this unfair system' (via @thejournal_ie) jrnl.ie/6772503
Tune into @TheHardShoulder at 4:30 to hear me talk about abolishing means testing has!
I wrote about means testing for @thejournal_ie. “The evidence is there to show the exorbitant cost of disability and that most disabled people are living in poverty. What else does the government need to see to make it take action?” thejournal.ie/readme/disabil…
I wrote about this for @thejournal_ie. Means testing has to go. thejournal.ie/readme/disabil…
Got a letter saying my Disability Allowance is being stopped because my husband and I earn less than €80 over the weekly threshold, so I no longer qualify. Happy Wednesday.
So sorry to hear this @niamhnih. Our #Budget26 submission highlights this issue. If means-testing must happen, only the disabled person's income should be assessed - not that of their family member, partner, or anyone else they live with. bit.ly/4ly5Cze

my bad, it's over NINETY bands of means testing. I guess I just couldn't keep the figure straight in my head because it's so preposterous and so insulting x.com/deanfbuckley/s…
Ireland has two bands for income tax and ninety-two bands for means testing disability benefit, and I don't know if I can sum up how insulting it is to be a poor person in this country better than that
means testing punishes disabled people for trying to live our lives and participate in society. it punishes us for finding love, receiving support or daring to work. there are over forty bands of mean testing for disability allowance. there are only two bands for income tax.

brilliant reporting from @niamhnih on Israel's plans to demolish a disability rehab centre in the West Bank aljazeera.com/news/2025/7/16…
Sick to my back teeth of people not acknowledging the risk Israel poses to disabled Palestinians. Disabling a nation then demolishing their supports. Maith thú @niamhnih! aje.io/ks7tro via @AJEnglish

I really enjoyed working with Milo Watson to tell his story, and I was delighted to see it on the front page of the Irish Independent this morning! independent.ie/life/ive-alway…
I pretty much abandoned Twitter (and most other social media platforms) earlier this year because it wasn't a great space to be in... Just poking my head back in to ask if it has changed much in the past few months?
Disabled people and their families are not your stick to stir the pot with. You consistently side with the architects of this crisis. If you cared about disabled people and their families you'd take the governments boot out of your mouth for more than 5 minutes.
Independent TDs like myself came here to work & to raise real issues like housing, health, and the massive delays in disability supports ie the Assessment of Need. But the Dáil is being paralysed over eight minutes of extra speaking time. (1/3)
