On World Ocean Day 2024, I'd like to share some exciting news. I am launching a start-up company, Ocean Intelligence, that will use ocean science to decarbonise the shipping industry. π§΅π
New adventures at @UniMelb at the SGEAS start today! Check out my intro video bit.ly/navid60sec Come work with us at @21CWeather or ping me if you are excited about ocean, ocean turbulence, climate model development, scientific computing, @JuliaLanguage, or @github.

It was so much fun chatting with @veritasium about the principle of least action! And what a great video Derek and his team made. Hope you enjoy it! youtu.be/Q10_srZ-pbs?feβ¦

A new paper by @ClimateMachine lead by Simone that introduces a new advection scheme for ocean models. The new WENO-based scheme provides implicit dissipation and thereby avoids the need for an additional explicit dissipation (and therefore the tuning of extra free parameters)!
