📢 Meet our newest grant recipients across Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma research! These exceptional investigators, selected for their potential to bring us closer to cures by pursuing the untried, the unexpected, and the most promising ideas,…
BREAKING: High exposure to lead — especially from leaded gas pollution — in the 1960s and 1970s is linked to memory problems 50 years later, and even low levels of lead exposure may damage the adult brain, according to new studies presented at #AAIC25. bit.ly/3GM3GnD
Dr. @BlancaRodFer presented some results of her recently defended thesis on "The role of biological aging on #Alzheimer's disease risk". #AAIC25

#preAAIC25 is here! Yesterday we had the chance to teach @ISTAART Immersive "Basics of Genetics" 🧬! Huge thanks to the entire team for the huge work behind it, and special shout-out to @taviaevans for the amazing organization! 🙌🏾 #AAIC2025 #ISTAART

Brilliant #AIC25 neuroimaging year-in-review by Dr.@EmmaCoomans - Interesting stats: 🧠 US-led data; ADNI cohort ♀️Big gender gap: 71% of last authors are men! - 2025-2026 priorities: 🟢 diverse cohorts, integrate multiomics, non-AT path, PET timing, real-world trials
I had so much fun presenting the opening plenary at #AIC25! ✨🧠If you missed it or want to have another look at the slides, find them through the QR code on the last image in the tweet below!
Coming to #AAIC2025? DeMON lab is here and we'd love to share our work with you! * Sun: Multi-cellular responses to AD using snRNA * Tue: Proteomics and big data * Wed: AI super-resolution for MRI * Wed: AI appleid to proteomics * Wed: Network modeling of tau Come talk to us!
#AIC25 has begun. Go and enjoy, it’s an amazing day organised by some amazing people! I will be there in spirit !
Happening now! #AIC25 has started in Hall G! We're excited to see you and have a full day of neuroimaging ahead of us! #ENDALZ See the full agenda here: alz.org/getmedia/f0b9a…
LABS is currently recruiting at all levels, including postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates (through Columbia Engineering): labs-laboratory.com/job. Come join us for cool science on multi-organ, multi-omics modeling of human aging and disease!
Come say hi AIC-293 👋 See how cortical brain asymmetry increases along the ADAD continuum, with data from @hospitalclinic & DIAN-OBS. Bonus: APOE3/3 carriers show the greatest asymmetry #AIC2025 #AAIC2025 #DIAN @NeuroimagingPIA @Alz_ClinicBCN @idibaps @UOCeimt @UOCuniversitat
Just arrived in Toronto for #AAIC2025! Excited to kick off the conference on Sun July 27 09:00 with a session on #cognitive #resilience, where I’ll be talking about hippocampal amyloid and tau pathology in #centenarians. Very much looking forward and hope to see you around! ✨
Happening now! The Immersive Workshop for Basics of Genetic Analysis! Thanks a lot @natvilortejedor, @taviaevans's leadership, and all other teaching staff and speakers who make this happen (@emmaluckettneu1, @LuigiLorenzini1, @BlancaRodFer, # Patricia Genius)! A lot of effort…
Headed to #AAIC25 early? Join us at the Preconference Workshop: Basics of Genetic Analysis 📅 July 26 | 🕗 08:00–12:00 📍 Westin Harbour Castle – Pier 2 Organized with the participation of #BBRC researchers Dr. @taviaevans & Dr. @natvilortejedor
One of my favorite papers in recent years included this diagram. It shows the impact of controlling for three different types of variables: confounders, colliders, and mediators. With confounders, control is good. With the others, you ruin your result by controlling.
