Serious question: if "AI is the future," how are the economics of that supposed to work for human creators and the open web? Generative AI culture encourages shortcuts & "easy-buttons". That's what the hype is about! But genAI culture ALSO discourages those who do the hard…
I'm so tired of gaslighting. No, Sundar, Google as a search product is not better. It doesn't work better for more relevant results or information, it's doing content theft at a massive scale, and the 2015 version was infinitely better. Sir, you've done a GREAT job maximizing…
The fact that Sundar would post this shows how badly Google has lost touch He is getting absolutely cooked in the comments & QTs 😅
IMHO: It doesn't take long to become dependent on Chatbots/Gen AI for 'brainstorming', work & communication. Then your cognitive skills begin to erode, just like with any repetitive addiction that takes shortcuts & evades the difficulties of original thinking & real feeling.
You’re right! China is beating our ass in *checks notes* protecting IP and the privacy rights of its people x.com/natejhake/stat…
This is the same dude who says competing with China requires the USA to permit Big Tech to steal all copyright But -- get this -- China's AI Action Plan calls for respect for IP! Unlike the USA's plan ... prepared by David Sucks Ronald Reagan would be *ashamed* of you! 🇺🇸

The AI race is on. China followed the Trump Administration in releasing its own AI Action Plan. Its emphasis: international cooperation. China wants to spread its technology across the world on a “Digital Silk Road.” The Biden Administration foolishly enabled this; its so-called…
To be clear, the ‘high-quality human data’ being discussed here is *other people’s work*, which Demis’ company has taken and built on without permission.
Demis Hassabis says I'm not worried about running out of high-quality human data We already have enough to build strong systems and simulations that generate useful synthetic data "we're already at that stage now"
Could this be the Napster moment for AI copyright theft?
Anthropic could be bankrupted within the next few months, thanks to last week's barely covered legal ruling, which exposes the AI startup to billions to hundreds of billions in damages for its use of pirated, copyright-protected works.
“It demonstrates in practice what is a problem that could be solved with the Robinson Patman Act as well as the California laws that you can use.” Catherine Simonsen discussing our newly-released legal practice guide during @Capitol_Forum's webinar on price discrimination.
being this proud of degrading your product is wild
Then there’s the remarkable evolution in Search. We’ve created entirely new ways to search like Lens + Circle to Search, and we keep incorporating our most advanced AI models. Now AI Overviews and AI Mode are reimagining the types of queries people can ask and we can answer. The…
How on earth do we as users give you the feedback that Search in 2015 was a far better and more useful product than today? Or does it just not matter because revenue is better now? I resisted switching for a long time, but I’m slowly having to admit Search is just not working.
“Like it or not, Google has a business to run and it is not going to let something as simple as the desires of its end users get in the way of all that.” ~ @ShortFormErnie 🔗 tedium.co/2025/07/25/goo…
Revenue growth at the cost of the creators that the AI was built on.
And of course there’s the revenue growth from providing highly valuable services to our customers + partners.
🚨NEW: As the Trump FTC starts to drop RPA enforcement, former enforcers Catherine Simonsen and @ShaoulSussman are out with a legal practice guide. The goal: to empower small businesses to hold dominant retailers accountable for anticompetitive price discrimination tactics👇⚖️

you can just d̵o̵ ̵t̵h̵i̵n̵g̵s̵ stop building theft machines
Right!? I almost never go to Google these days. The search results are so random. When the whole of internet is full of AI generated content who are feeding off of each other , the search results get messed up
The 2015 version of Google was 10x better, actually. Can we get it back please? 🙏
I reached out to almost all of the legacy media back in March/June 2024 and even paid for retainer of a Digital PR firm to get stories about HCU published. Literally no one listened and one of them even said I'm reaching out cuz I want a way out of the situation which few of my…
