The discussion to cancel student loan debt is complex. Before we choose to cancel debt let's have a serious conversation about cancelling the interest instead. As high as many debt levels are it's the interest that people hate most. The interest created the perpetual sinkhole.

Bravo #AnnieUnger on your first publication PhD “The Road to Running Records: A Narrative Review of Their History and a Systematic Narrative Review of the Evidence for Their Use” doi.org/10.3102/003465… with @PamelaSnow2 @TessaWeadman and me @latrobe
The K–12 curriculum problem cannot improve until states adopt unified, content-rich standards. Groups like @KnowledgeMatrs and @Standards_Work are pushing for this. Without it, teachers keep picking their own materials with no consequences for weak curriculum.
Last week I heard from teachers who said they rely on internet resources because their curriculum is so bad. They’re not wrong, but allowing every teacher to “choose their own adventure” isn’t the solution. We have a curriculum problem in k-12 education that needs addressing.
The Fed’s independence has been one of the most important & stabilizing developments in economic policy. Perhaps more importantly for the President, undermining the Fed’s independence would hurt his own economic and political goals. My @ProSyn column. project-syndicate.org/commentary/tru…
Unsolicited advice for incoming PhD students: Maintain your friendships with people who aren't academics
There was no federal authority that existed that supported targeting parents exercising their First Amendment rights. And yet the Biden DOJ did it anyway. A true betrayal of the American government against the people of our country. Never Again.
🚨SMOKING GUN🚨 AFL has obtained new documents CONCLUSIVELY PROVING that AG Merrick Garland’s infamous Oct. 4 memo labeling concerned parents at school board meetings “domestic terrorists” was POLITICALLY ORCHESTRATED and DRIVEN by the Biden White House. “WH has been in touch.”
“The people in this room will help disaffected teachers like me return to the classroom,” said Ms. Blackburn. This is the mission: restore respect, reignite excellence, and reclaim learning; one great teacher at a time! @Freedom4Teachrs Summit

“America has forgotten children are not little adults. We need to put them, and their needs back at the center of the conversation.” @Freedom4Teachrs and @Moms4Liberty
“For too long, we weren’t involved. Now, we re-engage.” @4TiffanyJustice’s keynote hits every issue that matters to teachers @Freedom4Teachrs summit!

The biggest time-suck isn't even SEL, it's ELA. A 2-hour "literacy block" focused on non-transferable "skills and strategies" of limited efficacy steals time from science, social studies, and the arts which builds the knowledge and vocabulary foundational to mature literacy.
The biggest cost in education is opportunity cost. Even if it weren’t radical balderdash (it is), every SEL session taught in a classroom takes time away from core subjects. This would be bad in any context, but in a nation whose poor and minority populations can barely read,…
It has been a fantastic summit. For anyone who might be thinking this is just another conservative summit, it’s not. It’s a movement of passionate educators who want to do better by students and families who are exhausted by having their hands tied by non-educators for decades.
Great job @Freedom4Teachrs and Eloise for putting together such a powerful conference.
Watching @YeonmiParkNK speak is a powerful reminder of what real courage looks like. Her voice cuts through the noise with truth, clarity, and hard-won freedom. Grateful for her witness, and honored to be X mutuals.
Education is cultural instruction. Let’s stop pretending otherwise. At AEI, @CoryJBrewer unpacked Pierce v. Society of Sisters at 100; this month, @Freedom4Teachrs spotlighted state and local policy. The stakes aren’t neutral.

“In a compulsory environment we must adopt procedural safety.” The fantastic and clear eyed Katie White speaking about how to reform School Discipline for @Freedom4Teachrs.

An awesome surprise in the @Freedom4Teachrs goodie bag, a physical copy of @MrZachG book! I have already read the digital version but this makes the summit transformative for teachers!!

The Summit Begins! @Freedom4Teachrs I have already met several engaged and passionate educators. Looking forward to the next two days!!!

There are 100's of teachers here in DC right now fighting for exactly these things w/ Teacher Freedom Alliance. If you are a teacher who has had enough of politics and social engineering in schools, you should join us. @Freedom4Teachrs @EDSecMcMahon, you should contact us.
The President asked me to fix a system failing too many students. That starts with cutting bureaucratic red tape, allowing teachers to innovate, and letting states decide what’s best for students.
Starting to see consequences from the mass cancellations and firings at ED. A month ago, I reported about a missed June 1 deadline for a statistical report. Now NAEP science scores are delayed. hechingerreport.org/proof-points-d…
