Have a look at our article "on the importance of Illustration for Mathematical Research." We argue that #illustratingMath not only has a positive aspect for communication of #Math results, but also for the #Research process itself. If you want to collaborate on this, hit me up!
In "On the Importance of Illustration for Mathematical Research," alumni from ICERM's Fall 2019 Illustrating Mathematics program emphasize the historical importance and growing potential of mathematical visualization for @amermathsoc 'Notices'! ams.org/journals/notic…
Squares still available to claim for the Granny Life project! Your crochet could end up as part of a mathematical art exhibit in Paris :) #computationalcrochet #crochet #cellularautomata math geek crochet 🧶 grannylifecrochet.com/home
Yes, please! Here are some of the motifs you can generate for this project with the Granny Life cellular automata app at mathgrrl.com/granny-life/
My friend @mathgrrl needs you to crochet granny square motifs based on cellular automata. Details here: grannylifecrochet.com
And that's a wrap for my report from this year's @BridgesMathart conference. It was great, as always! Many thanks to the organizers for a wonderful week of #MathArt. If you're interested, join us in Galway, 5-8 August '26. bridgesmathart.org/b2026/ 👋

The @BridgesMathart conference finishes with the traditional "informal music night." Here, the conference participants take the stage and show their (musical) talents. All instruments, styles, and levels of musical professionalism are welcome!🪈🎶🪕

The last day of the @BridgesMathart conference is also the last day to visit the #art exhibit of the conference. Luckily, all artworks from this year's conference (and all artworks of prior exhibitions) can be found freely accessible online: gallery.bridgesmathart.org/exhibitions, check 'em out

The @BridgesMathart conference traditionally closes with "#Family Day," an offer of a collection of #arts and #crafts activities, openly and freely accessible to the public. Here, the community shares their love of #MathArt and #IllustratingMath with the local folks.

During #family day at the @BridgesMathart conference, there's also the screening of the Short Film Festival, a curated collection of #math #shorts. You can find all films from this year's 16th edition (and all from the last years) in the Bridges gallery: gallery.bridgesmathart.org/exhibitions/20….

A highlight of the @BridgesMathart conference is the #math theater play. This year, there was a "Trio of four plays," organized by Don Spector. We saw three monkeys with typewriters, the love for bakers and mathematicians of pi(e), Fibonacci noir, and struggles of math teachers.

Last keynote of this year's @BridgesMathart conference was by @3blue1brown on a work in progress: On artworks by Sol LeWitt and the related mathematics. It's always great to see new content from Grant, especially, if it is a #MathArt discussion. Looking forward to the full video!

Second keynote today at the @BridgesMathart conference is by @juergenrg on "Études in Symmetric Pattern Drawing." He takes us into his app iOrnament and not only shows how to create beautiful #art with it, but also how much #math is behind it. 📜 archive.bridgesmathart.org/2025/bridges20…

First keynote this morning at the @BridgesMathart conference is given by Alison Martin, telling us about "Transforming 2D Materials into 3D Objects: Flexing and Stretching the Rules." Using bamboo as the material, Alison creates intricate weavings. 📜 archive.bridgesmathart.org/2025/bridges20…
