More Transit Southern Ontario
@moretransitso
We advocate for affordable, frequent, reliable & integrated transit networks for riders across Southern Ontario.🚍🚊🚆🚇
Another missed opportunity to not install expensive bespoke switches. So disappointed in the city for not going "Ok each time we tear up an intersection we will put it back right"
Happy Friday, Toronto! Here’s today’s King and Church update. If you’re in the area this weekend, you’ll see TTC crews starting to set the new streetcar rails! Looking ahead to next week, we’ll be completing the permanent water service connections to nearby properties. Thanks…
The “official” future Greater Toronto Region transit map from Metrolinx, showing existing, underway, and planned transit projects.
Last week, the Mayor’s Exec Committee *approved* new priority transit lanes on Bathurst & Dufferin — but the final *vote* at City Council is THIS WEEK. This is our chance to make transit faster, safer & better for everyone. But opponents are pushing back hard. Let’s flood…
The year is 2025 and Metrolinx is still deciding whether it should run more frequent trains instead of longer trains like they run today....... railwaygazette.com/in-depth/canad…

New housing here is honestly impossible without the LRT. Cherry St is already gridlock whenever there are events on in the summer. It’s so important that this is funded ASAP
The newly opened Biidaasige Park is awesome. It would be even better with the Waterfront LRT! We need the federal and provincial government to fund the project now so we can get it built before all the new residents move in
Future Waterfront East streetcar right of way on Ookwemin Minising island. We really need the Federal Government to help get this project funded. cc: @cafreeland
Good that the new TTC CEO will be car free. A good sign.
No matter what they’re called, you should know your rights if you’re stopped by a fare inspector, provincial offences officer, or police while on the TTC: ttcriders.ca/rights
📢 Arushi Nath, a high school student & MTSO member, delivered a moving deputation at Toronto’s Executive Committee. She spoke from experience about delays on the 511 Bathurst streetcar and called on the City to build RapidTO lanes on Dufferin & Bathurst: youtu.be/MChUy9uSYNc?si…
We're here today at City Hall as the Mayor and City Councillors on Executive Committee vote on dedicated transit lanes on Bathurst and Dufferin. Lots of transit riders and local residents here today to speak in support! Follow this thread to follow along
Please see our letter to the Mayor's Executive Committee, about RapidTO dedicated transit lanes, requesting they be approved as originally proposed, and clear timelines for their implementation. ttcriders.ca/rapidto_letter
Transit riders show up! We met at Dufferin and Bloor today, along with @TOenviro and local Bathurst business leaders to speak loudly in favour of dedicated transit lanes.

Met with small business owners to hear about how RapidTO could impact local businesses, parking, and daily life along Bathurst. Decisions about our neighbourhoods are being made by bureaucrats who don’t live in Toronto and by an ideological council that’s out of touch with…
According to the consultation reports, transit lanes on both Dufferin and Bathurst have overwhelming support. However the city has decided to water down the plans to appease the small minority who insist on clogging up transit for parking
Toronto city staff no longer recommend the Bathurst and Dufferin TTC routes get their own RapidTO lanes all the way to Eglinton. Instead, they want bus and streetcar-only lanes to stop at Bloor. torontotoday.ca/local/transpor…
Do you have footage at Rogers Stadium while taking transit (GO or TTC)? DM us or email [email protected]! Tell us your experience below. What do you think could be improved?👇 #rogersstadium #gotransit
All this Rogers Stadium confusion within a month of the @Thetrilliumca article on Metrolinx scaling back GO expansion to not include the Barrie line in the first phase. This is just absurd. If we want the public to take transit seriously, we need our agencies to do so as well.
📆📢 July 7, 8, 11 and 12: Coldplay at Rogers Stadium ➡️ We’ve arranged three additional Barrie line trains to get you home from the concert. ➡️ High passenger volume is expected. Plan ahead. ➡️ Some train lengths are changing. gotransit.com/en/partners-an…
