Urbanism is much more than just transportation. Read my thoughts in my latest article:

Instead of having highway signs we should just expect everyone to use GPS on their phones. It would save lots of money!
To those, I say "please enter the 21st century (or just ask a fellow passenger, or the train attendant, like there is on every single train)" rather than us paying to install what would be a tens of millions of dollars electronic display system on trains.
Genuinely curious, with the abhorrent state of parks in Toronto, and our desire to keep some of our newest ones lovely for decades to come (and FPR's total seeming disinterest), why not adopt the NY Parks model with conservancies?
Absolutely brutal numbers in @mikepmoffatt's latest. missingmiddleinitiative.ca/p/why-lower-co…
So much of life in Toronto is constantly waiting for Google Maps Updates. . .

The Antonov at Pearson must be unflyable at this point no? Seems like our chance at a U-Boat at Science and Industry type situation!
A major problem in Toronto is when faced with a weird problem with an obvious solution used almost everywhere someone will often defend a personal non-solution and claim that it's not a big deal.
I don't know. Almost everyone has a phone on them, it's pretty easy to pull up maps and know where you are and even seeing your travel dot move along. That's what I do.
GO Transit can't imagine anyone who doesn't commute the same time every day to the same station, and thus trains have barely any wayfinding (screen with next station name MAYBE if you're lucky). Should have nice LCDs ala DB ( :'( ) with line and next sev. stops.

Good that the new TTC CEO will be car free. A good sign.

Particularly concerning given the TTC has historically relied so heavily on buses, and provided good service with them. If this changes that it's catastrophic.
After the TTC Board rubber stamped the Green Bus report in spite of its clear documentation of project mismanagement, I cannot resist posting this link to Vancouver's "Buzzer", their riders' newsletter. (1)

It remains bonkers that most of Montreals regional train lines run just a handful of trains a day. Seems like possibly the biggest transit problem in that region.
Honestly it's not even complex. It's basic bus lanes. Cities around the world have orders of magnitude more of them. These aren't subways, they are red paint!
#topoli ICYMI today on @spacing -- LORINC: Rip off the bandage rapidly, please! Why the City needs a radically new approach to rolling out complex policies like the RapidTO bus priority plan, which is being nibbled to death. spacing.ca/toronto/2025/0…
