i realize there are very good reasons for people's objections to gene editing, but for me and my ehlers-danlos syndrome ruined body it does feel a little like people are saying "the moral choice is for you to suffer regular physical agony"

Interesting results here! About 10% of people report being unable to "nap", meaning fall asleep during the day. I'm in that category. When I try to nap I just end up laying down w/ my eyes closed - it's moderately refreshing, but not nearly as much as actually sleep would be.
When you nap during the day, do you actually fall asleep? (I never fall asleep when napping outside of bedtime hours, no matter how sleep deprived I am.. curious how prevalent this phenotype is)

AI datacenter power draws can fluctuate by 15MW in a couple milliseconds, enough to power 12,000 homes or to charge 750k iPhones the engineering behind managing power fluctuations in datacenters is super underdiscussed imo

It's official. The UK is now officially a police state. It has become precisely what Orwell warned about. Criticize mass migration and you can expect the police to come to your home. And judges will give longer sentences for wrong think than many violent crimes.

In 2024 $QBTS made 93% of their revenue from consulting for companies that have FOMO about quantum computing. There is no application where a D-WAVE annealer is even close to competitive with a laptop computer. In short, it's a scam, with no hope of not being one on the horizon.
$QBTS won't take my money unlike every single other cloud provider and even quantum company. what are they so scared of? i want to *pay* them and get their revenue a little higher than an average laundromat. cc @Alan_Baratz
