This is huge news for our democracy. 16 and 17 year olds will have the vote in the election. Extending the franchise is vital to nurturing more active citizens for the future health of our democracy.
📢 The government has announced the voting age will be lowered to 16 at the next general election. As part of these changes, voter ID will also be extended to include UK-issued bank cards as a valid form of ID.
