Head Football Coach - Sheldon High School
Class of 2026. I think this message is important to share with you before your Senior Year of Football. You don’t realize it now but someday you will. It’s going to be one of the most amazing times of your life. You’re going to have a town, a community following you and…
BREAKING: I will be hosting an early screening of Happy Gilmore 2 on the 9th green at 9 on July 24th. Hope you all can make it. Oh and dress nice.
Let your kids struggle. Not all day. Not so much it breaks them. Not for the rest of their lives. But for the sake of their future and ours, let your kids struggle and learn early how to deal with friction, adversity, self-reliance, discipline, and the weight of responsibility.
"Of course talent matters. But 'effort is worth twice as much as talent.' We have better learn to develop their grit. Because grit is what turns potential into reality." Grit is not a talent; it's a choice.
Don’t need 150 guys, just need the right guys!
Leadership QOTD:
How the game has changed… most of these hits are ejections now
Hardest collisions in Oregon Football.
E+R=O Event + Response = Outcome. Events don’t create outcomes. How you RESPOND to events is everything. Have a Champions mindset and CHOOSE the best response for the event you’re dealt because your response is all you have control over

The research is clear: cell phone use can create a trifecta of consequences for our young people – mental health issues, safety in school, and distraction from learning. I signed this order to stand up for the promise of every student in every corner of the state.
Friday Night Lights are tough to beat! Enjoy the ride with your brothers
Every year we tell our guys there's nothing like high school football, and that college football is a job. Every year they don't listen and look ahead. And the next year when they come back, they say, "coach you were so right." Enjoy high school football while you can.
Honored to be mentioned as all-camp defense for Oregon! @AndrewNemec @JordanJ_ @martell_t11 @SheldonIrishfb @CoachPatu @CoachWesNurse @CoachMaday @EWUCoach_Bruce prepredzone.com/2025/06/oregon…

7-on-7 has a place in football, but make no mistakes, football games are won & lost in the offensive & defensive lines on Thursdays & Fridays! Keep working.
You don’t lack ability — you lack the discipline to do it every day. Champions aren’t built on motivation. They’re built on habits. Success doesn’t come from what you do sometimes. It comes from what you do all the time.
Winning starts with accountability — to yourself and to your teammates. It means holding yourself to a standard that doesn’t change, no matter the circumstances. That’s how teams win. That’s how players become leaders. That’s how champions are made.
Football isn’t just a game. It’s a classroom for grit, discipline, resilience, and character. Every rep, every setback, every fourth quarter moment shapes who you become off the field.
“You work your butt off, you treat people with respect, you do the right thing, and you share…”
Oregon State head coach Mitch Canham shares his thoughts on what truly matters at the end of the day as the Beavers’ season comes to an end.
