على السلطات السورية الوقف الفوري لجميع أعمال العنف، والبدء بالتحقيق بهدف محاسبة جميع الأطراف المرتكبة للانتهاكات، واتخاذ خطوات ملموسة نحو تحقيق رؤية "سوريا لكل السوريين". وفيما يتعلق بإسرائيل، فعليها أن توقف فورًا توغلها وهجماتها وانتهاكها لسيادة الدولة السورية.

وجاءت الضربات الإسرائيلية المنتهكة لسيادة الدولة السورية لتفاقم الوضع المتأزم، وتكرس تصوير الدروز كطرف متهم بالعمالة وخدمة المصالح الإسرائيلية، بدلًا من التعامل معهم كمواطنين سوريين تقع على عاتق الدولة السورية مسئولية حمايتهم وخدمتهم.

ارتكبت مجموعات غير تابعة للدولة، من بينها قبائل بدوية وفصائل درزية مسلحة، انتهاكات شملت القتل غير المشروع. وفي الوقت نفسه، يشهد الوضع الإنساني تدهورًا كبيرًا، حيث بلغت المستشفيات طاقتها الاستيعابية القصوى، وانقطعت إمدادات المياه والكهرباء، ونفد الوقود.

وبينما تقع مسئولية حماية المواطنين من جميع الطوائف والخلفيات، دون أي تمييز، على عاتق الدولة السورية، إلا أن قوات الأمن التابعة لها شاركت مباشرةً في أعمال العنف كرد فعل على التوترات في السويداء، كما غضت الطرف عن انتهاكات ارتكبتها مجموعات غير تابعة للدولة.

بقلق بالغ، نتابع في معهد التحرير أحداث العنف المروّعة في محافظة السويداء السورية، والتي أسفرت عن سقوط ضحايا من المدنيين، وتهجير للسكان، وزيادة الاحتقان الطائفي في لحظة حرجة من تاريخ البلاد. أولاً، وقبل كل شيء، نعرب عن تضامننا الكامل مع الضحايا، وذويهم، وكل من تأثر بهذه الأحداث.

I met with Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian student at Columbia University, who was imprisoned for 104 days by the Trump administration for opposing Netanyahu’s illegal & horrific war in Gaza. Outrageous. We must not allow Trump to destroy the First Amendment & freedom to dissent.
