1. Today the Federal Circuit rejected Teva's bid to list device patents for inhalers in the Orange Book. Practically this means that drug makers can't list patents for things like inhaler caps to block generic rivals from the market & keep prices high. A big win for Americans.
FTC Chair Lina Khan shows Lesley Stahl an asthma inhaler that costs dollars in Europe but hundreds in the U.S. She says drugmakers register patents on inhaler parts like the cap-strap to keep low-cost generics off the market. cbsn.ws/3zuONT2
🚨Without explanation, @FTC is reportedly dropping its case against @GCU, a massive school accused of deceiving its students. This admin has already turned its back on student borrowers. But now it appears to be flashing a green light to lawbreaking. @FTC should explain itself.
To recap: Firms have been making people jump through endless hoops just to cancel a subscription, trapping Americans in needless bureaucracy and wasting their time & money. @FTC began writing a “click-to-cancel” rule promoting efficient cancellation, a rulemaking process that…
If Delta thought they could use a black box AI algorithm to jack up prices and no one would notice, they should think again. I’m leading my colleagues to demand answers from Delta’s CEO. I won’t stand by while Americans get ripped off
Update: 21 days into Made in USA month 183 days into Trump Admin $0 penalties $0 refunds 0 cases Second term is looking a lot like the first.
Join me in celebrating "Made in the USA" Month at the @FTC!
Great to see Commissioner Slaughter back at the FTC after a court held the White House’s firing of her was illegal. Let @FTC know if you support her move to re-issue the click-to-cancel rule so that firms can’t get away with trying to trap you in a subscription you don’t want.
Excited to be heading into the office this am! Top of the to-do list: calling a vote on restoring the Click to Cancel Rule. It’s time the FTC gets back to protecting consumers from real abuses like subscription traps that cost Americans countless hours and millions of dollars.
Statement by reinstated FTC Commissioner @RKSlaughterFTC
BREAKING: DC judge rules Trump admin's attempt to remove @RKSlaughterFTC from her position as a commissioner did not comply with FTC Act’s removal protections, and those protections remain constitutional. Judge dismisses @BedoyaUSA claims without prejudice.
Instead of fighting to lower costs for Americans, this @FTC is letting off the hook oil executives caught trying to collude with foreign countries to inflate how much people pay at the pump.

Earlier this year, Lina Khan warned that airlines would soon be able to charge a higher airfare to people needing to get home for a funeral. It’s here.
Over 16k Americans weighed in on the click-to-cancel rule, overwhelmingly supporting our effort to end subscription traps. The rule was set to go into effect in May but this @FTC slow-walked it—and now a court has tossed it out, claiming industry didn’t get enough of a say.…
Why does every basic product now require a subscription?? Former FTC Chair Lina Khan says she received letters of support across the aisle for the "Click to Cancel" laws, which are now being postponed by the new administration. 😧
This week, the FTC might abandon its rule banning noncompete clauses, which trap workers and depress wages. That’s why I introduced the Workforce Mobility Act to ban them. I’m live with a worker trapped by noncompetes to hear his story. Tune in. x.com/i/broadcasts/1…
What is freedom? Are you really free if your groceries or medicine are so expensive that you can’t afford them? Or if your boss can change your work schedule on a whim or block you from getting a new job? @linamkhan explains how excessive corporate power makes us less free.
Under @linamkhan, @FTC formally banned Made-in-USA fraud and obtained record-breaking judgments against violators. It’s good the new administration is talking the talk about strong enforcement. It’d be better if they brought some actual cases.
