One for your collection #TunnelArtWeekend, Mr G @GrimArtGroup . Not strictly speaking a tunnel but, for me, one of the UK's most striking tunnel-like pieces of architecture: The Ouse Valley viaduct, with a lovely young lady for scale.
L.S. Lowry's painting York's Clifford's Tower (1953), surprisingly includes on the foggy horizon a cooling tower. This was Foss Island Power Station - built by York Corporation & opened 1900, it closed 1976. Another 1953 Lowry shows the Minster amongst smoky industrial monoliths.
