Vindicated & reinstated. 115 days later and thanks to amazing solidarity from around the world, Goldsmiths has confirmed that there is "no case to answer" against me & @gkhiabany for doing our job & supporting our students. Off to the pub now...
Looking forward to taking part in this event on Tuesday
TUESDAY: We're joined by Des Freedman to discuss the failures of the mainstream media in its coverage of the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Register free here: eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-genocide…
BBC Verify has done a long explainer about UK military support for Israel which cites David Lammy’s claim that the MoD isn’t sharing intelligence from its more than 500 “surveillance flights” over Gaza but then fails even to ask what these flights are for bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
“A baby dies in Gaza” is BBC Radio’s headline just now. Unbelievable that they still use the passive tense without mention of Israel, & that now, only now, after some 50000 kids have been killed or injured since 7/10, is every news outlet suddenly interested
Important point
The comforting myth that racist riots are being fuelled by "disinformation" when really they are fuelled by what is said by mainstream politicians in government and the mainstream media who is unable to hold them to account As you were...
You’d think that a university “culpable” for failing to prevent antisemitism would want to speak to as many Jewish colleagues as possible before drafting terms of reference for a plan to fight antisemitism timeshighereducation.com/news/staff-fea…
480 days since this devastating article by @nevegordon and @Muna_haddad was published. What exactly were mainstream media covering in this period? Do they really think hunger just “happens”? nybooks.com/online/2024/03…

Misinformation isn’t new. The BBC “inadvertently reversed” coverage of Orgreave so that it looked like miners attacked police and not the other way round. This letter is particularly relevant given today’s announcement of #orgreaveenquiry theguardian.com/media/2007/jul…
Following yet another horrendous massacre by Israeli forces, BBC is the only UK news channel referring to the “Hamas-run health ministry”. ITV, Sky, Channel 4 & Reuters avoid the term in their headlines. Is it so hard to believe the numbers are true without qualifying the source?

The truth about the official BBC Gaza doc review: 🎙️ Narration "factual & carries balance" 📰 No issues w/ "accuracy, fairness or impartiality" in content 💷All payments "reasonable" So why is the BBC still censoring 'How to survive a warzone'? @lazebnic counterfire.org/article/the-bb…

What a bizarre world where the BBC is finally charged with breaching accuracy and investigated by Ofcom - but only in relation to a sympathetic and hard-hitting Gaza documentary which the Johnston Review largely praises for its accuracy and fairness…counterfire.org/article/the-bb…
Unbelievable that the CEO of @BBCNews is now willing to consider showing the previously pulled Gaza documentary "in short form". Laura Kuenssberg was found guilty of breaches of both accuracy & impartiality and she's definitely there in full form every Sunday morning.

Headline should really be 'BBC Gaza doc did not breach impartiality guidelines'. The report states that it didn't find 'any issues with the accuracy, fairness, or due impartiality of the reporting in the Programme.' Will the BBC restore it to iPlayer? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
You can hardly call it an “error” or a “malfunction” when your forces are pounding unarmed civilians and have killed at least 95 people in Gaza today according to @AJEnglish. You don’t think that’s a massacre?
