Hate the algorithm. Never showed me the @codepink "Iran out of Lebanon" or "Iran out of Syria" posters, of which I'm sure there were many. Right?
I have openly opposed “cancel culture,” but I’m glad this guy got fired. Why? Because the problem with cancel culture isn’t that people face social or professional consequences for saying offensive things. It’s that, in recent years, the definition of “offensive” or “bad” speech…
The literal fascist who got exposed on Jubilee has been fired from his job. Love that for him.
Can I say something without everyone getting mad?
Here’s where @mehdirhasan steamrolls a confused young Republican who says immigrants aren’t Americans… except for her parents… or something… He points out immigrants contribute trillions to our economy and are actually more likely to start businesses.
One of Iran’s most prominent dissidents, @HosseinRonaghi, has just been sentenced to 5+1 years in prison for peacefully supporting the Woman, Life, Freedom movement. His only “crime” was standing up for basic human rights. Regardless of political ideology or background, we…
Since he complains about immigrants named Mohammad so much, I'm sure someone named "Gad Saad" can trace his lineage to Jacques Cartier.
It was so enriching returning to Montreal today. Our border security officer Mohammad was sweet and polite. Our taxi queue manager Mohammed was lovely. Our taxi driver Muhammad was upbeat and professional. I found the kiosk owner Mohamed a bit rude but his co-owner Mahmoud…
Everything is a conspiracy with these guys. YOU'RE IN A CULT! SEEK HELP.

Every development in this story is awful for the CBC brass. Rather than fighting it, perhaps they might learn something from it and change their practices? nationalpost.com/news/canada/cb…
Musk/Zuckerberg/etc aren't responsible for the crazy stuff people say on their platforms. But they should be held responsible (morally & in some cases legally) for designing their algorithms in such a way that garbage like this constantly gets pushed to the top of people's feeds.

Just wish these Iranian far right guys understood that no matter how perfectly they regurgitat fascist talking points, the blonde fascist guys still won't respect them and the blonde fascist women still won't want to fuck them (looking like a cartoon villain doesn't help).

Agree that the inherent conflict of interest created meant that they should resign/be fired. That said, I'm shocked at how many "we must punish them for having an affair" comments I've seen. Incredible how many (probably hypocritical) puritans, scolds & theocrats live among us.
Astronomer CEO Andy Byron has resigned following Coldplay concert incident.
The Wire is a documentary.
A D.C. police commander is under investigation for allegedly making changes to crime statistics in his district. The police union claims supervisors manipulate crime data to make it appear violent crime has fallen considerably compared to last year. nbc4dc.com/WSssIZY
This @tomblackwellNP piece about Iranian regime repression in Canada is very good. Glad to have been a part of the discussion about my own experiences with it (and to have been given the centrefold spread in the paper edition 😁)
My longish feature on how Iranian Canadians feel the heavy hand of the Iranian regime in what they assumed would be a safe haven. nationalpost.com/feature/canada…
A friend in the NY legal market shared this with me. Legal recruiters are explicitly emphasizing that the firm they're recruiting for signed the anti-Trump amicus. Hopefully firms like Paul Weiss & Skadden which capitulated to Trump will struggle to recruit top talent.

I love that MAGA's key defense against that WSJ Epstein story is "Trump is too dumb to ever use a fancy word like 'enigma'".
It must suck for the CEO and the HR lady, but I love days like this on Twitter. Really great jokes about some very low stakes issue.
Married CEOs can't even hug and romantically sway with their married head of HR during a Coldplay concert anymore because of woke
