In UP, constitutional law is taught w/ court-skepticism: not whether the SC followed text/doctrine, but how decisions are shaped by outside factors. That pedagogical choice is validated tonight. While its ruling produce an unchecked Court, it can't escape the judgment of history.

Sara Duterte lives to fight another day, thanks to a Supreme Court stacked by her father. No surprises there. But the justices ruled only on a technicality, not the corruption allegations she’s facing. A new impeachment case can be filed in Feb 2026. This isn’t over.
House Speaker sat on this for too long. President was too indecisive. Senate President instead debated semantics with the public. They left legal loopholes the size of oceans, allowing the Supreme Court to shoot it down. Their fault. The country’s loss.
JUST IN: The articles of impeachment against VP Sara Duterte is barred by the one year rule, according to SC Spokesperson Atty. Camille Ting. Ting said the Senate could not acquire jurisdiction over impeachment proceedings.
