DOJ Asst. Sec. Mico Clavano said the Coast Guard search operations for the missing sabungeros in Taal Lake “temporarily placed on standby” due to bad weather and reduced underwater visibility.

WATCH: Video sent by the DOJ shows PCG personnel carrying the sack containing what appears to be burnt human bones. Asec. Mico Clavano said the remains were found near the shore - either “washed ashore” or “dumped near the shore in front of a public area.”
DOJ says burnt bones recovered in Taal Lake during the search for cockfight enthusiasts will undergo further examination to determine if they are human remains. If and when, DNA testing will also be done to match them with the relatives of the victims.
