Hard to be sure, but I think England might be happy Kamboj is playing and Kuldeep isn't
66 overs into England's innings and Shardul and Washington (despite his performance at Lord's) have bowled six overs between them. India's conservative team selection - over-valuing lower order runs, and ignoring Kuldeep Yadav as a result - has really helped England.
It is horrifying to see people justify the starvation and slaughter of children — no less or more so when those children are Muslim. It isn’t less horrific when Israel bombs mosques. (This is from January 2024, just three months in.)
Really enjoyed recording this episode of The Reading List with @Bahrisons_books – it's very rare to have the chance to speak about a novel in such depth/detail. Also available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc: youtube.com/watch?v=xmI05-…
Brilliant episode.
Cricket is an unusual game with an unusual history — which reveals so much about our society & our times. @timwig joins me in episode 422 of The Seen and the Unseen to discuss the history of Test cricket — and how the game is changing today: seenunseen.in/episodes/2025/… Good fun!🙂
Not playing Kuldeep is why India have basically been new ball or bust in these conditions as far as wicket-taking is concerned.
Still hard to swallow that the club tried to extend his contract. Two weeks ago it stalled out - the reporting was that it was over money but it’s not hard to wonder if the club got wind this was coming. To state the obvious, the whole affair makes Arsenal look TERRIBLE.
Partey, 32, has been charged following a lengthy Metropolitan Police investigation standard.co.uk/news/crime/tho…
Really not happy about Partey situation, innocent until and all that, but given he wasn't charged, i dont believe legally he could have been suspended. But the fact that they tried to renew during the summer, should mean that a lot of criticism will be thrown rightly so at club

Dream combination for lovers of Test cricket – on the eve of the Lord's Test!
Looking forward to chatting about Test cricket's history and our new books with @ajarrodkimber on 9th July 2025 at @WaterstonesPicc - the evening before the Lord's England-India Test
India have two of the greatest, most unique wicket-taking geniuses in the world in their squad. Both are fit and neither is playing.

Yer da would love every Olivia Rodrigo song if it were performed by four sweaty boys with guitars
This is unhinged. He’s not a jihadi (which is an insane smear) and being opposed to the ruling party in India doesn’t make anyone anti-Hindu
What stops you from recognising the fear among Hindus that a potential Jihadi and confirmed Anti-Hindu politician might just become mayor ?
Most Test 100s as a wicketkeeper in England: 4 - Prior, Stewart, PANT 3 - Ames, Knott 2 - Bairstow, Evans, Russell
Read recently: Aditya Balasubramanian’s Toward a Free Economy (Princeton 2023). A study of the Swatantra Party in the context of Indian libertarian thought in the 1950s/60s. The movement supported freedom of enterprise, a small state, and reduced federal control over regions.
