Happy new year x. This is the year Tom Hayes will have his conviction overturned. Watch this space.
I didn’t post yesterday as I was celebrating! What a long and bumpy journey Ive been on in representing Tom Hayes in his appeal against conviction. Yesterday was an amazing day. I wonder if there’s been a round of applause before in the Supreme Court -Well there was yesterday!
My legal heroes and @karentodner . I fought Adrian over the arguments to run fortunately he prevailed!
The Supreme Court has overturned Tom Hayes’ 2015 conviction for conspiracy to defraud over LIBOR submissions. Adrian Darbishire KC and Tom Doble of QEB Hollis Whiteman represented Hayes in one of the most significant criminal appeals of the last decade.
A huge thank you to @DavidDavisMP for all his public support throughout this ordeal, and to @karentodner for continuously believing in Tom and the others. The world would be an amazing place if there were a lot more people like these two wonderful human beings.
High Court contempt case thrown out today. A pleasure to work with counsel at @5SAHLaw for expert representation. Im doing quite abit of this niche area of law these days.

Ive only just realised that the surnames in Gavin and Stacey are West, Shipman and Sutcliffe!
40 years since Live aid. 40 years since I sat my solicitor’s exams! I kept sneaking a watch rather than revise!
As you grow older you realize it becomes less important to have more friends and more important to have real ones.
Now I know what the CEO of the SRA earns I’m appalled. We solicitors have to pay for this. Its outrageous!
I represented Nicholas De Brito. The story portrayed on the BBC and ITV tonight is not an accurate reflection of the case. His extradition to Brazil was refused because, despite been given numerous chances, the Brazilian government refused to engage.

Behind claims by Tom Hayes and Carlo Palombo that they were wrongly jailed is a deeper scandal stretching back to 2007. Click on the links and you’ll see and hear evidence, covered up for years, of pressure to rig interest rates from central banks and governments….
