I try not to post science on this website. But Trump's BBB (Big B Bill) will cut NIH by 41% ($18 billion) and NSF by a whopping 57% ($5.2 billion). If you have a GOP Rep/Senator, call them now. I'm calling @SenMcCormickPA: Please restore these cuts to scientific research.
The @GOP has something to say about kicking 17 million Americans off their health care

For her PhD research, Lara Tookey found that when classrooms were at comfortable temperature, had fresh air and low CO2 levels, students performed better on cognitive tests. “Basically, stuffy and uncomfortable classrooms make it harder for kids to think!” massey.ac.nz/about/news/phd…

Finding out HHMI is canceling the Hanna H. Gray Fellows competition is heartbreaking. Especially since if they decide to hold it next year I’ll no longer be eligible
That's a wrap on our semester-long exploration of learning in STEM and various theories of cognition! What a great group of students in chemistry, biology, and math! They are passionate about improving their learning and teaching others, and I can't wait to see what they do next!

I was telling my students about the tenure process today & I ended it with: “& if I don’t get it I’m fired.” they all gasped & put their hands over their mouths. it truly is terrifying when you think about it.
