For my new followers: Thanks for the follow. I specialize in lithics, landscapes, mounds, hunter-gatherers, & southeast NA. I try to answer all the questions asked to me that I can. Hoping to make more YouTube videos but been busy trying to finish my PhD.
Today is #askanarchaeologistday. I will be stopping by the Inside Archaeology YT channel to answer some questions. Tagging @MoundLore because I know lots of their followers enjoy the history of mounds and that is my specialty. So feel free to come by! youtube.com/live/Q8OiCpYf6…
Reason to try new things: Pineapple deer sausage. I never would have tried this but the guy that does our deer processing recommended it and now we mostly get it when we bring a deer in.

One of the hardest chapters for me to write so far has been the Introduction. Hoping to have it done and my theory chapter done soon.
I don't think most fans of "pseudoarchaeology" are stupid, but one common trend I see is that many fans of it don't understand archaeology to begin with - then when they see messages from opponents of the field they don't want to learn from archaeologists.
Statements like this illustrate why Establishment Archaeology is going out of business 1) This is projection🪞- remember when you defended the trees at a Gobekli Tepe? 2) “Pseudoarchaeology” questions the narrative, rather than memorize and regurgitate outdated textbooks 3)…
This is an unfortunate situation. People keep speaking out about wanting more archaeological research to be done, but we are losing the funds to make that possible. SAPIENS Magazine was focused on public outreach and now that is disappearing as well.
The Wenner-Gren Foundation has made the difficult decision to halt the creation of new content for SAPIENS Magazine at the end of 2025. Read President Danilyn Rutherford’s letter to our community. buff.ly/Gol3kMM
Ceramic figure depicting a ball player in action, from the Jaina culture, Late Classic period (600-800 AD). Collection: Museo Nacional de Antropología, Mexico.
This was found during one of my stone sourcing field studies. It's a mix of Potato Hills Chert & quartzite/silicified sandstone. Examining artifacts as part of my diss, I have found one biface with a mix of chert & quartzite. The stem was quartzite while the blade was chert.

#AskAnArchaeologist Day is this Friday! Get your questions ready, as tons of archaeologists will be on hand to answer your #archaeology queries. @archaeologyuk

Mystery fact about me: I was a semi-Pro in Overwatch and used to coach Rampage Jackson. There may still be videos online of it because he would stream them on Twitch.
A post I made making fun at Congress got 47 times as many likes as a post I made educating folks about the Bill of Rights. It's difficult to spread higher quality information in an attention economy.
"This is factually incorrect. Every major figure in the debunking community has admitted they got stuff wrong at times. From Milo Rossi to Flint Dibble, this is true. As usual, you lie Dan." Now let's see that goalpost moving @DeDunkingPast
This is factually incorrect. Every major figure in the alternate history community has admitted they got stuff wrong at times. From Graham Hancock to jimmy Corsetti this is true. As usual, you lie JT.

This is an unfortunate loss for the Caddo people and the world. I never had a chance to speak with Mr. Johnson, but I am friends with and work with Alaina. This is sadly happening too much with NA languages. koco.com/article/caddo-…
