When #AlphaFold2 came out, we wondered: Could it help us understand how enzymes evolve? So we tried it—and it worked! nature.com/articles/s4158…
Now out! Congratulations to Javier @javopinto_ and Natalia @BalarezoNatalia Cold tolerance in different yeasts species evolved from different routes, and transcription plays a bigger role than allelic variance. @EGS_UoM @UoMMIB @FutureBRH journals.plos.org/plosgenetics/a…
The Yeast2025 meeting in Paris is over, and was so much fun. It was exciting to see a room full of yeast biologists, with more than 500 people. It was also great to be part of the dream team of organizers, led by Gilles Fischer!

Nice to have a recap of our past ERC PhenomeNal project. Well, let's move on to the next one - UnMiss! @ERC_Research @CORDIS_EU @haploteam cordis.europa.eu/article/id/459…
A bit late, but thrilled to share our paper published earlier this year: "A taxogenomic view of the genus Torulaspora: an expansion from ten to twenty-two species." A great collaborative effort that doubled the known diversity of the genus! doi.org/10.3114/persoo…
The latest story from the @haploteam highlights the phenotypic impact of acquired subgenomes in allopolyploids, through the lens of 1,060 Brettanomyces bruxellensis genomes. Nice collaboration with @univbordeaux @CNRSbiologie @unistra @InstUnivFr nature.com/articles/s4146…
Beyond happy to be an ERC AdG laureate! This milestone would not have been possible without the incredible work done in the past and the dedication of all current and former members of the @haploteam @CNRSbiologie @InstUnivFr #unistra x.com/ERC_Research/s…
The 2024 ERC Advanced Grants will help 281 researchers set up their own teams and conduct research on the topics of their choice. We selected 5 examples of projects; based in Spain, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. Find out more 👉 europa.eu/!bvgxtprk
Excited to share our latest from the Systems Genetics Lab @iitmbt published in npj Systems Biology and Applications @Nature_NPJ rdcu.be/emNld! We used genome-scale metabolic models (GEMs) & transcriptomics to reveal how SNP-SNP interactions (1/4)
🚨 New method alert! We developed HiddenFoot, a physics-inspired approach to decode single-molecule footprinting data and infer TF, nucleosome, and RNA Pol II binding profiles on individual DNA molecules. One molecule at a time! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
We happiliy reveal our performance data of Zeno Trap Scanning DIA, a commercial implementation of Scanning SWATH, on the 7600 instruments from @SCIEXOmics . Nice step forward ! nature.com/articles/s4158… biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
📢 PhD position available within the @haploteam. Application deadline - 05/31/2025. For more information, see haploteam.org or send me a message!
Nothing seems to have bigger impact on your plasma proteome than the use of hormonal contraceptives. Often misconstrued as age and sex effects, and I'm wondering if we really understand all health implications. nature.com/articles/s4385…
Since 2012, we've been running the Strasbourg Ekiden with @haploteam. This is our 13th edition. And it's still just as fun!

Yeast2025 meeting, Paris, July 21-24 2025 📢 With nearly 400 abstracts submitted, the conference promises to be exciting! 🔗Registration is still possible, but but there's not much room left so hurry up if you'd like to join - premc.org/yeast2025/

happy to see this out! great team effort to integrate data from disparate studies, increasing our knowledge on the response to immunotherapy depending on tumor subtype @GRIB_Barcelona @HMar_research @UPFbiomed
💫 Our paper “Predicting immunotherapy response of adv bladder ca through a metaanalysis of six independent cohorts” is out today at Nature Commun. Data of 707 adv bladder ca pts treated with anti-PD-1/anti-PD-L1 to build highly accurate predictive models. rdcu.be/eaDie
Agave fermentations not only produce mezcal and tequila; they are also natural laboratories of microbial evolution. Had a great time working on this with @LuciaMoralesR, @EugenioMancera, and @deluna_lab as part of the #YeastGenomesMx onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ye…
We are looking for a talented researcher to join our Stanford Lab! The team member will lead efforts to develop and refine CRISPR-based therapies for Dilated Cardiomyopathy. See below for more details: careersearch.stanford.edu/jobs/basic-lif… Please share with anyone interested!
Very happy to obtain an @ECOS_NORD grant with @LuciaMoralesR! Great collaboration in perspective. So, it's time for a margarita with mezcal!
