this is true, but also “we don’t need to exist” is a completely fine and reasonable precondition. the vast majority of profitable businesses (basecamp and buttondown included!) do not need to exist: that does not mean they don’t provide value, nor does it mean they are failures
Feature parity is just another way to say “we don’t need to exist”.
