It’s my annual training for the @USNavy this week in Tacoma, so I won’t be making any statements on any grant funding for @JTAFLA while I’m away. But I have a lot of opinions about it.

Surely there are better items to veto than helping veterans. Who can possibly be against this!? These vets are disabled because of their service for Gods sake. Overturn this veto, & all other veteran related legislation @FLSenate and @myflhouse #flapol #Veterans

For those interested, I will be accepting the permanent promotion to Commander (O5) in the @USNavy on Aug 1. We will conduct the 15 min ceremony at Memorial Park. It’s open to the public, so feel free to show up!

Always cool to be a verb

This is called leadership! Proud of this program and its success for our youth. #jacksonville #ilovejax #jaxpol jacksonville.com/story/news/loc…
Thanks to Col Chris Budihas for bringing me on your new @WOKVNews program “1st Coast Military Life.” Happy to talk public service & all things military! #military #veteran #jacksonville

Today I staged a boycott to protest the abnormal actions by leadership that undermine the traditions & balance that we usually commit to on behalf of our City. Ego harms the legislative process & we need servant leaders who won’t trample on colleagues for political points #jaxpol
My statement regarding this morning's Transportation, Energy and Utilities Committee meeting:
People should go see #Superman . I wasn’t immediately hooked, but it becomes pretty incredible as the run time continues. I ended up loving it.

The number of surface parking lots that are just ripe for redevelopment in nearly every city in the United States is off the charts. (Denver)
Happy #IndependenceDay! Just don’t forget the cost that was paid to get us here after 249 yrs. Remember Nathan Hale who, during his execution by the Brits, he said “I only regret, that I have but one life to lose for my country” We get to celebrate bc of self sacrifices, not ego

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸 🎆Celebrate with us tonight by attending our annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration. This year’s fireworks will be launched from the Acosta Bridge and east of the Main Street Bridge at 9pm. For complete information: events.jacksonville.gov/special-events…
This bill doesn’t help people & this bill doesn’t empower anyone. It just feels cruel, bitter, and antagonistic towards anyone who’s working class. And with these numbers for who is going to lose healthcare… I mean, dear God help us. This isn’t winning. #BigBeautifulBill

How is this not unequivocally illegal???
UPDATE: We recently saw Representative Robert Bresnahan selling Centene stock. Centene provides healthcare exchanges for Medicaid. The stock has now fallen 43% since his sale:
Christians praying for the passage of a bill that will hurt the poor, sick and children to help the rich....
Some states don’t call it ‘Medicaid’ in their state. Here are the names of the programs that will be cut in their home state #jaxpol #FlaPol

This should be incredibly disturbing for people to see. I don’t think anyone voted for this.

Detroit, but it could be any city in the U.S. If you see a parking lot in your city's downtown, it probably was occupied by a historic, mixed use building 70 years ago.
I am incredibly proud of what our Mayor has done today, & I’m grateful to see us pushing back against a bill that is unpopular, unnecessary and bad public policy. Let’s focus on making lives better in this City, not fear mongering. #jaxpol #flapol
