For today’s #WildlifeWednesday, the Victorian Grassland Earless Dragon (Tympanocryptis pinguicolla). This Critically Endangered reptile was rediscovered in early 2023, more than 50 years after the last confirmed sighting in the wild! Pic: Nick Clemann
Exciting news! 3 new species of Earless Dragons. The Emerald earless dragon is a grassland species, living in fragmented tussock grasslands and cropping land in QLD Central Highlands - photo: K. Chaplin. @museumsvictoria @joanna_sumner99 taxonomyaustralia.org.au/ajt/papers/9gx…
Reviewers: Please stop being so rude in your manuscript reviews. No need to be an asshole. You may have some useful points that will help improve the manuscript. But when a student receives your feedback in such a rude and condescending manner, it's crushing. Shame on you.
Huge milestone today. After almost 3 years, I've finally finished all of my PhD field work!🎉 It's been a real treat getting to work so closely with the Canberra grassland earless dragon 🦎 😊 @UC_CCEG

Come see me at the #WCH10 poster session and find out about post-release effects of translocation on the Canberra grassland earless dragon 🐉 🦎 find me at A-1247 between rooms 5 and 6 😊

Today I launched some of my 'SmartBurrows' into my ringtank enclosures! They're designed to monitor burrow and habitat use of T. lineata 😊 come hear me talk about them at the world herp congress in August! #WCH2024 #herpetology @UC_CCEG

Researchers at @IAEUC have been awarded a grant to fund the breeding and reintroduction of the Canberra Grassland Earless Dragon. 🦎 The project is funded by a @DCCEEW Saving Native Species Program – Priority Species grant, announced today on #BiodiversityDay. #UniCBR
Little project update since it's been a while. I've had a second successful breeding season in my outdoor enclosures with 15 (!!!) tympo juvi's found yesterday 🥹 @UC_CCEG

A final push to reach our fundraiser target of 2000 raffle ticket sales. We’re just shy of halfway. Every ticket means more time in the field. A few hundred extra dollars will mean an extra day in the field. That could mean rediscovery! We’re not giving up! Will you help?
How good! The Victorian earless dragon has been rediscovered after not being seen since 1969! @AustSocHerp
Some good news for your Sunday. This little guy is a Victorian grassland earless dragon. One hasn’t been seen in Victoria for over 50 years and was thought to be extinct in the wild - until now.
We've reached 11,000 signatures! I think we could easily reach 20,000. Glad to see so much support for raising the stipend. #RaiseTheStipend

If you agree the Australian PhD stipend should be raised to meet minimum wage, please sign this petition to parliament. Must be an Aus citizen or resident to sign. Fewer than 5000 people have signed so far #PhDVoice #PhDLife - aph.gov.au/e-petitions/pe…
The ACT government has updated its list of threatened species and says the Canberra grassland earless dragon is now critically endangered. Five new species have been added to the list, while four have had their status updated. ab.co/3HswYot
Had such a great team to work with on this one. Respirometry chapter is in preprint and currently under review. Have a sneak peak before it goes live.

🔎🦎 Maximizing detection of rare & cryptic spp is challenging, but our study on grassland earless dragons promotes using multiple types of artificial refugia. Matching survey methods to habitat use can improve detection probability & deliver more effective results @ChadleyBera
