Today is National Police Legacy Day. Police Legacy organisations around Australia support police and their families, often after a police officer has passed away.

Some great news today from the World Economic Forum. Because we take gender equality seriously.

Apparently a man told the NSW Liberal Women’s Council “the women in this party are so assertive now that we may need some special rules for men to get them pre-selected.” Need I say more?
My dear friend Tom Uren would’ve been 104 today. He was kind and wise, yet tough in his pursuit of fairness, justice, and peace.

Today is National Sorry Day - a time to reflect on the enduring pain experienced by the Stolen Generations. Sorry also means committing to stand against racism and ensuring this harm doesn’t happen again.

Got an hour this week? Use it to volunteer. This National Volunteer Week, swap the doom-scroll for doing good—help out locally, support someone vulnerable, or lend a hand where it’s needed. Tag your org and tag me. @VolunteeringAus 👇 #NVW2025
Aid and humanitarian work in Gaza must resume immediately. Lives depend on it.
Australia is part of the international call on Israel to allow the full and immediate resumption of aid into Gaza. Israel must enable UN and humanitarian organisations to do their life saving work. We urge all parties to return to a ceasefire and hostage deal.
Delighted to be the Minister for Social Services in the new Labor Government.
Today, you’ve got a choice. Labor will deliver tax cuts, energy bill relief, cheaper medicines, free TAFE, cut your uni debt, build more homes and more - or Peter Dutton who has opposed these things at every turn. For a better, fairer Australia, vote Labor.
Something you may have missed from Peter Dutton’s election costings yesterday is his attack on the environment. A Dutton Government would cut $250 million of funding to protect more Aussie bushland and the funding to set up Australia’s first federal EPA. Is anyone surprised?
The Newtown Synagogue has been part of our community for more than 100 years. Our strength is our diversity, and this is why a re-elected Labor government will support them host religious festivals with a $27,000 grant.

Sickness and injury aren’t just 9 to 5. And now, with 1800Medicare, neither is health care.
