You don’t understand how much I love the Armenian and Coptic hoods

You made the world a little softer, a little kinder, and a little warmer. I've always tried to do the same. That was my favorite blanket when I was younger.

My dad passed away today on the feast of Mary Magdalene. May she greet him and guide him to the royal doors of God’s altar. I only wish he could have taken me with him. I begged God to, but I must stay here.

Please pray for me and my family. I came home to find my granny had passed away in her bed. This is extremely difficult for all of us, but it's hitting me very hard. I'd consider this my first major loss of my life.

*sigh* I miss speaking and hearing Arabic on a daily basis. 😪

So much of our current societal dysfunction is driven by the loss of third spaces for teens. We've taken away their parks, their rec centers, de-funded their libraries. It isn't healthy for them to be indoors all day on their phones. They need play. They need community.

It's crazy, 'Cause when I'm abroad and using my standard/international English, people ask me to speak with the Southern/AAVE dialect and accent I grew up with, but it's not something I can do on demand. But baby, one month back in AR/TN got it comin' out my mouth STRONG 🤣

Continuing with my personal Dad Appreciation month. This is another of my dad’s art work. What is remarkable about it is it was painted in 2982 while he was still working at his engineering job. ❤️

As my personal Dad Appreciation Month, continues, I share with you this morning one of his drawings that he left us. Tbis elaborate cross is on display at the St. Shenouda Coptic Cultural Museum in Los Angeles.

I'm likely about to start the process of a career change that involves going back to school, and I'm laughing because my almost-19-year-old sister and I might be in a couple of classes together because they're pre-reqs for both our fields (nursing and speech-language pathology).

All men should wear a swim shirt with their trunks. I'm disgusted by the immodesty.
